Department of Plant Sciences welcome all new selected candidates of M.Phil and PhD Admission Fall 2026

QAU has rescheduled the M.Phil. & Ph.D. Admission Tests from 26 August to 31 August 2026, while the tests scheduled for 28 August will proceed as planned.

May Allah bless heaven to our great mentor, He has supervised 40 PhDs pure in Plant Taxonomy and Biodiversity, more than 250 Mphil students, more than 300 MSc students thesis, and author of more than 500 w category high impact factor articles, and more than 20000 citations and remained 3rd highly cited Taxonomist of the world, author of 15 international books and more than 60 books chapters published by Elsevier, Springer, Taylor and Francis. Best teacher award by HEC , life time achievement award in botany, many more awards and one of the excellent Taxonomy graduate from leicester university UK, under the supervision of Professor Clive A. Stace (author of modern Britsh flora).
Director of biggest Herbarium of Pakistan ISL with more than 0.3 million specimens with 60000 digitized Herbarium specimens data and many more, in addition to above Professor Dr Mir Ajab Khan was excellent human being, thorough gentleman and highly respectful personality in Academia, society and Global community.
Prayers for his highest rank in heaven .

It is with profound sorrow that we inform you of the sad demise of our great teacher and mentor, Professor Mir Ajab Khan.
His funeral prayer (Namaz-e-Janaza) at 5.30pm today Sunday 14th June will be offered at his native village, Basia, Tehsil Hazro, District Attock.
May Allah (SWT) grant him the highest place in Jannat-ul-Firdous and give strength and patience to his family, friends, colleagues, and students during this difficult time.

An enriching field excursion to Shahdra Valley was organized under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Muhammad Zafar for BS Botany (1st Semester) students. The trip focused on algal and plant collection, highlighting the ecological significance and conservation of biodiversity in natural habitats.
