**Things You Should Teach Your Teenagers (Aged 11 to 19):**

1. **Keep Your Nails Clean and Properly Trimmed:**
People often notice your nails first. They may just observe and not say anything, but it's crucial to keep them tidy.

2. **Always Use Deodorant or Perfume:**
Ensure you never emit an unpleasant odor. Bad smells can bother your friends, schoolmates, colleagues, or those around you. However, they won't mention it because it's a personal matter.

3. **Maintain Oral Hygiene:**
Keep your teeth clean. Bad breath can be very unpleasant for those you speak with. People won't say anything, though, as it's a sensitive issue, and they may worry about offending you.

4. **Pay Attention to Neck and Ear Hygiene:**
Clean your neck thoroughly and trim nose hair weekly. Make sure there’s no dirt visible, as no one will explain these things to you. They might notice but remain silent. However, points are silently deducted in their minds.

5. **Avoid Bad Habits in Public:**
Don’t put fingers in your nose, mouth, or ears, and avoid biting your nails or scratching frequently. If you need to scratch your nose, use a tissue or the back of your hand, not your fingers, as they might be used for shaking hands. Always keep a tissue or handkerchief with you.

6. **Never Touch Intimate Parts in Public:**
This is absolutely inappropriate.

# # # Additional Guidelines to Regularly Remind Them:

1. **Always Wear Underwear:**
Whether you're wearing shalwar or pants, it's essential.

2. **Present Yourself Well When Leaving the House:**
Even if you're just going to the nearby market, wash your face, comb your hair, and wear proper clothes and good shoes.

3. **Keep Your Shoes Polished and Clean:**
Your shoes tell more about your personality than your clothes do.

4. **Wear Appropriate Clothing in Public and Prayer Spaces:**
Half-length pajamas, incomplete shirts, or tight clothes can look unseemly. Especially boys should wear shalwar kameez when going to the mosque, as shorter shirts and jeans can distract others during prayer.

5. **Maintain Decency Even at Home:**
Your home attire should be dignified as well.

6. **Always Knock Before Entering Rooms:**
Never enter your parents’ or sisters' rooms without knocking. Don't sit idly in your sisters' rooms or the women’s quarters.

7. **Girls, Now That You’re Older, Learn to Wash Your Clothes:**
Don't leave dirty clothes hanging in the washroom.

8. **Keep Personal Items in Your Closet:**
Ensure that personal belongings are stored in your wardrobe.

9. **Teach Teenagers to Shave and Maintain Personal Hygiene:**
When your child enters their teenage years, provide them with a razor and blades, and demonstrate how to clean hair from their body every week.

10. **Respect Personal Space:**
Teach them to respect their own and others' personal space. A simple way to measure it is by extending your arm. It should be around 2.5 to 3 feet. Don’t invade others' personal space, and maintain a distance of at least 3 feet when talking to someone.

11. **Properly Introduce Yourself When Meeting Someone:**
When making a call or visiting someone, start with these four things in one breath:
1) Greeting,
2) Name,
3) Place/Organization,
4) Purpose.
For example, greet them, tell them who you are and where you’re from, explain why you’re there, and ask for permission to speak or enter.

12. **Never Take Anything Without Permission:**
Even a pen or tissue from someone’s desk should not be taken without asking. This is the first step towards crime.

13. **Wear a Genuine Smile When Communicating:**
Whether on the phone or in person, always have a slight, genuine smile on your face. This small gesture can open countless doors of opportunity for you.

14. **Shake Hands with Warmth and Eye Contact:**
When shaking hands, make sure it's firm, warm, and accompanied by eye contact. Don’t look elsewhere while doing it or talk to someone else.

15. **Observe Table Manners:**
Be considerate and polite when eating with others. Don’t behave as if it’s your last meal ever.
