HSA Islamabad PGDs

The Vice Chancellor Dr Shahzad Ali Khan of HSA paid tribute to parliamentarians and member of health committee who visited the Health service Academy and participated in a special session. He thanked them for their presence and appreciated their recognition of HSA’s academic performance, research culture, and institutional progress.

Mr. Gleb Shubin, Cultural Attaché of the Russian Embassy in Pakistan, visited the Health Services Academy (HSA), Islamabad, where he held a meeting with the Vice Chancellor, Prof Dr Shahzad Ali Khan The meeting focused on enhancing educational collaboration between Pakistan and the Russian Federation, with particular emphasis on student exchange programs, academic partnerships, joint research initiatives, and faculty cooperation in the field of public health and related disciplines Prof. Dr. Shahzad Ali Khan briefed the visiting dignitary on HSA’s mandate, academic programs, and its role in strengthening Pakistan’s public health system through research, training, and policy support. He underscored HSA’s interest in developing international linkages to promote knowledge exchange and capacity building. Mr. Gleb Shubin highlighted Russia’s commitment to expanding cooperation with Pakistani academic institutions and appreciated HSA’s contribution to public health education. Both sides agreed to explore practical mechanisms to translate discussions into future collaboration frameworks. The ORIC Steering Committee Meeting convened at the Health Services Academy on 22 January 2026. Key participants included Maj Gen Salahuddin Qasim, Prof. Lt-Gen. (R) Dr Asif Mumtaz Sukhera, Dr Mohammad Salman, Dr Faiza Bashir, Prof. Dr Babar Tasneem Shaikh, Prof. Dr Junaid Sarfraz, Prof. Dr Abid Malik, Prof. Dr Shahid Baig, Dr Ayesha Sheraz, Dr Mariam Ashraf, and Mr Shoaib Sultan. The progress of ORIC was shared for the year 2024-2025, with the respected participants, specifically regarding the HEC scoring of ORIC. Key highlights include our selection as a Global Public Health (GPH) Education Centre under the CAREC Programme, ongoing collaborations with WaterAid, Ipas, WHO, and NIH, and other active projects and grants won by HSA. Thank you to all committee members for their valuable insights and continued support.
