Muharram, also known as Muharram-ul-Haram, is the first month of the Hijri calendar and thus marks the beginning of the Islamic year. It is the only month which Allah’s name has been attached to - the Prophet Muhammad (saw) referred to it as ‘the Sacred Month of Allah’ - and is thus a highly blessed month.

It is one of the four sacred months, and its special importance is indicated by its name. The word ‘Muharram’ literally means ‘forbidden’ - i.e. it is so sacred that certain actions become forbidden during it, as they would violate its sanctity. Both the month of the Muharram and Allah’s House (Al-Masjid Al-Haram) derive their names from the same Arabic root word; both are sacred spaces in which every deed, good or bad, weighs heavier on the scales.

Your prayers and sacrifices will never go unanswered. On this Eid-Ul-Adha, embrace Allah’s divine blessings with all that you have! May all your good deeds be accepted and you be awarded the highest reward of all. Eid-Ul-Adha Mubarak!

The Messenger (PBUH) of Allah SWT has instructed the Muslim Ummah to commence the recitation of Takbir al Tashreeq right after the Fardh of Fajr prayers on the day of Arafah, 9th Dhul Hijjah and should then be continued all the way till the Asr prayer on the 13th Dhul Hijjah. This means that Takbir al Tashreeq is to be recited after a total of 23 prayers during the annual pilgrimage (Hajj).

DAY OF ARAFAH 🌻

27/06/2023

Youm-e-Arafah ~ Arafah Day

The Day of ‘Arafah (Yawm Al-‘Arafah), also called the Day of the Standing (Yawm Al-Waqf), is significant because it is the holiest day of the Islamic Hijri lunar year (just as Laylat Al-Qadr, the Night of Empowering Decree in Ramadan, is the holiest night of the Islamic year).

1. It is the day God perfected the religion of Islam.

2. It is the day God bestowed the completion of His divine favor upon the Muslims, and for humanity.

3. It is the day God said He chose and was pleased with Al-Islam — The Peace — as the religion of the believers unto the end of the world.

4. It is the day God revealed these three virtues of Islam to His Prophet, God’s blessing and peace upon him, as part of the Quran (Sûrat Al-Mâ’idah, 5:3).

5. It is the day of the Prophet’s Farewell Pilgrimage (Ḥajj Al-Wada‘) and his celebrated Farewell Address (Khutbah Al-Wadâ‘) to all the believers until the end of time, on him be peace, which took place on a Friday, the Muslim weekly communal day of Congregational Prayer (Jumu‘ah), during which the previously cited revelation came down.

6. It is the day the Prophet, on him be peace, bore witness three times before the believers and God that he had successfully completed the divine mission of His messengership: To convey God’s message of the Quran and Islam to humanity.

Zil-Hajj Day 7:

In fact the very act of ransoming Prophet Ismail (a.s) from the blade, from the knife was to teach this to us- what matters most is our consciousness, our preparedness to negate everything for His sake, to dedicate everything to His service and worship.

Zil-Hajj Day 6:

It is strongly encouraged that the one who intends to give the Qurbani does not cut their hair or nails, starting from the first day of Dhul-Hijjah up until after the sacrifice.

The Prophet (saw) said, ‘When the ten days (of Dhul-Hijjah) start, and one of you intends to sacrifice, then let him not cut his hair or his nails’. (Muslim)

Zil-Hajj Day 5:

HAJJ

The Hajj pilgrimage is one of the defining rituals of Islam. Every able Muslim is required to journey to Makkah at least once in their life. Why?
* It is obligatory (Fardh) for anyone who can afford and is physically able.
* It is one of the 5 pillars of Islam.
* All sins will be forgiven.
The reward for performing an accepted Hajj is no less than Paradise as the Prophet ﷺ informed us.
The reward for an accepted Hajj is no less than Jannah– BUKHARI
