🌿 Exciting News! 🌿

We are pleased to announce that Ms Zahra Niazi, a postgraduate student of MS Development Studies, S3H, NUST, alongside her esteemed supervisor, Dr. Muhammad Ammad Khan, Assistant Professor of Development Studies, S3H, NUST has published a groundbreaking paper titled "Greening South Asian Cities for Health: A Study of Urban Green Space Usage and Physical Well-being" in the renowned journal Environment, Development, and Sustainability.

This important research explores how urban green spaces in South Asian cities impact the physical well-being of residents, shedding light on the critical role of environmental design in fostering healthier urban communities.

🌍 International Seminar on Enhancing Climate Resilience 🌍

On August 7, 2024, Islamic Relief Pakistan (IRP) in collaboration with the Department of Development Studies, National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), Islamabad, Pakistan, organized an impactful international seminar titled "Enhancing Climate Resilience in Sindh and Balochistan: Integrating the H-CVCA Tool for Stakeholders & Community Capacity Building."
The event brought together experts, policymakers, and community leaders to engage in insightful discussions and explore collaborative solutions for building climate resilience in these vulnerable regions.
It was an incredible experience to witness the exchange of knowledge and ideas that will pave the way for a more sustainable and resilient future for Sindh and Balochistan.

🎉 Celebrating Excellence! 🎉

We are happy to announce that Taimoor Abid, a dedicated student from the MS Development Studies program specializing in Social Work and Community Development (Batch 2k22), has showcased his research at the First International Conference on Strategies for Sustainable Agriculture and Forestry in the Face of Climate Change. The conference took place from July 10-12, 2024, in the scenic Ghora Gali, Murree, Pakistan.

Taimoor's research, titled "Exploring Middlemen Exploitation of Smallholder Cotton Farmers in Faisalabad, Pakistan," addresses a critical issue affecting our agricultural community. His insightful work sheds light on the challenges faced by smallholder farmers and proposes sustainable strategies to mitigate middlemen exploitation.

This outstanding achievement was made possible under the expert supervision of Dr. Muhammad Ammad Khan, Assistant Professor, Development Studies, NUST. Dr. Khan's guidance and Taimoor's dedication exemplify the high standards of academic excellence and commitment to sustainable development upheld by our department.
