The Last Lamp
In an old part of the city, there lived a very poor boy named Ayaan. Electricity often went out in his small home, so every night he studied under the light of a tiny oil lamp.
People laughed at him and said,
“What will you ever become with that little lamp?”
But beneath its soft glow, Ayaan wrote his dreams—of becoming a doctor, of curing his mother, and of bringing light to a neighborhood where darkness wasn’t just about power cuts, but about lost hope.
One night, a fierce storm hit the city. The lamp flickered, almost going out. Ayaan closed his book and shielded the flame with both hands, whispering,
“Just a little longer… everything will change.”
Years later, a new hospital stood in that very neighborhood. On its gate were the words:
“Ayaan Memorial Hospital – Where every darkness is treated.”
And inside, protected in a glass case, was that same old lamp—
a reminder that even the smallest light can change the world ✨
