Our project, Design and Development of Affordable Nanocomposite-Based Water Filters for the Removal of Heavy Metals and Biofouling from Industrial Wastewater, reflects our commitment to translating lab-scale research into scalable, industry-ready solutions.
Supported by the Technology Development Fund (TDF) and developed at COMSATS University Islamabad, this work highlights nano-enabled, modular water treatment systems aimed at addressing critical industrial wastewater challenges.

ہمارے آبی ذخائر کا مستقبل — ایک خاموش خطرہ

ہماری ندیاں، جھیلیں اور آبی ذخائر اس وقت ایک بڑے خطرے کا سامنا کر رہے ہیں، کیونکہ صنعتی فضلہ بغیر کسی مناسب نگرانی کے براہِ راست پانی میں چھوڑا جا رہا ہے۔

یہ زہریلے مادے ختم نہیں ہوتے۔
یہ پانی میں جمع ہو جاتے ہیں، پودوں اور جانوروں کے ذریعے جسم میں داخل ہوتے ہیں، اور آخرکار خوراک اور پانی کے ذریعے انسان کے جسم تک پہنچ جاتے ہیں۔

طویل عرصے تک آلودہ پانی کے استعمال سے کئی سنگین بیماریوں کا خطرہ بڑھ جاتا ہے، جن میں شامل ہیں:

دماغ اور اعصابی نظام کی بیماریاں

دل کی بیماریاں

جینیاتی نقصان

کینسر کا بڑھتا ہوا خطرہ

ہمارے آبی ذخائر کی حفاظت صرف ماحول کا مسئلہ نہیں، بلکہ یہ عوامی صحت کی ایک بڑی ذمہ داری بھی ہے۔

The Future of Our Water Bodies – A Silent Crisis
Our rivers, lakes, and wetlands are increasingly under threat due to the unregulated discharge of industrial effluents into natural water bodies.
These contaminants do not disappear.
They accumulate in water, get ingested through plants and animals, and ultimately end up in the human body through the water and food chain.
Exposure to contaminated water after a prolonged period has been associated with the following health hazards including Neurological and brain disorders
Cardiovascular diseases
Genetic damage
Increased risk of cancers
Protecting our water bodies is not just an environmental issue — it is a public health responsibility.
