Islamabad King Sejong Institute (IKSI), NUML is pleased to announce the Korean Writing Competition 2026 as part of the 580th Hangul Day celebrations.

Participants can choose ONE of the following topics:

Important:
โ€ข Essay must be written in Korean.
โ€ข Essay length: 1,000โ€“1,500 Korean characters.
โ€ข Participants may select only one topic.
โ€ข Faculty members are not eligible.
โ€ข Pen and paper will be provided.
โ€ข Electronic gadgets are not allowed in the hall.
โ€ข Native Koreans are not eligible to participate.

Celebrate the beauty of Hangul through art!

Islamabad King Sejong Institute (IKSI), NUML invites all eligible participants to take part in the Korean Calligraphy Competition organized as part of the 580th Hangul Day celebrations.

โœจ Submission Dates: September 21 โ€“ October 1, 2026
๐ŸŽจ Theme: Korean Calligraphy (ํ•œ๊ธ€ ์บ˜๋ฆฌ๊ทธ๋ผํ”ผ)
๐Ÿ† Winners will receive attractive and exciting prizes during the Hangul Day ceremony on October 9, 2026.

๐Ÿ“Œ Key Guidelines

โ€ข Open to all Pakistanis residing in Pakistan.
โ€ข Write Korean beautifully with a minimum of 20 words.
โ€ข Use standard chart size.
โ€ข Only one participant may be involved in the project.
โ€ข Brush, pen, pencils, crayons, watercolors, etc. may be used.
โ€ข One entry per participant is allowed.
โ€ข There is no entry fee.
โ€ข Participants are required to make a video of themselves working on the project; shortlisted participants will be asked to share the video.
โ€ข The decision of the professional judge will be final.

Orientation Session โ€“ Fall 2026

An Orientation Session for newly enrolled students of Korean Language & Culture, Arabic, German, Italian, and Spanish was held today, September 10, 2026, at Iqbal Hall, Ibn-e-Rushd Block, National University of Modern Languages (NUML), Islamabad.
The session commenced with the recitation from the Holy Quran, followed by the National Anthem of Pakistan. A documentary on NUML was played, providing them with a brief introduction, its academic environment, facilities, and various learning opportunities.
Following the introductory session, representatives from the respective language departments introduced their programs and guided students about their courses and other opportunities.
The Head, Department of Korean Language & Culture, Dr. Atif Faraz, presented the Korean language programs and shared valuable information regarding the courses, academic structure, examinations, class arrangements, and various learning opportunities related to Korean language and culture.
Throughout the orientation session, students were also guided about NUML's admission and application procedures, course selection, class timings, examinations, assessments, and other important curricular and co-curricular matters. The departmental representatives responded to students' queries and helped them gain a better understanding of the language programs offered at the university.
Overall, the orientation session was an informative and valuable experience for the students. It provided them with a better understanding of NUML and its diverse language programs, enabling them to make informed decisions regarding the courses they wish to pursue.
The session marked a positive and encouraging beginning for the students as they embark on their language-learning journey at NUML Islamabad.
