The Department of Optometry & Orthoptics, FRAHS, RIU, Islamabad, successfully conducted an Eye Health Awareness & Screening Camp at Lady Bird School, Banni Chowk, Rawalpindi.
Students were screened through visual acuity testing, binocular vision assessment, and basic ocular health evaluation. Students were also guided on visual hygiene, proper screen use, good posture, and the importance of regular eye checkups.
This initiative was made successful by the dedicated efforts of Ms. Momina Javaid, Ms. Mehak Shahzad, and the students of Optometry & Orthoptics. We extend our sincere thanks to the school administration for their cooperation.
Special appreciation to Dr. Laraib Umer, HOD Optometry & Orthoptics, FRAHS, for her leadership and support. The department remains committed to promoting eye health through community outreach.

The Department of Medical Imaging Technology proudly celebrated World Radiography Day 2025 under the theme “Empowering Healthcare Through Imaging Excellence.”
The event featured a variety of engaging activities, including model and poster competitions, where students showcased their creativity, technical understanding, and innovative ideas in medical imaging. Their work highlighted emerging trends, imaging protocols, AI applications, and radiation safety practices. Adding to the excitement, students also presented skits focused on the importance of medical imaging in practicing evidence-based medicine. A key highlight of the event was a presentation on the use of Artificial Intelligence in Radiology, by a very talented final semester student emphasizing how AI is revolutionizing diagnostic accuracy and patient care through automation and advanced image analysis.
We were honored to have Mr. Faheem Arsalan (Project Manager At Medequips) as our Chief Guest. He delivered an inspiring and insightful career counseling session, offering guidance to our seventh-semester students, who are preparing for their final semester and future professional roles.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to all participants, faculty organizers, especially the Chief Organizer, Miss Shumail Saeed, and our Chief Guest, for making the World Radiography Day 2025 celebration meaningful, memorable, and truly successful.
