"If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more, and become more, you are a leader."

Pakistan on its 71st anniversary saw a sea-change in its composition.
It is a historic FIRST that a political party headed by a non-career politician swept the polls tearing apart the two-party system.

Imran Khan, arguably the world's second best cricket all-rounder of all time, and one of Pakistan's biggest philanthropists, is a unique politician who has sacrificed on several fronts, including his marriages, children living abroad while he braved the heat and dust on Pakistani streets, luxury of cloistered life in the West and a lucrative career in cricket administration or commentary box for politics.
Just as a Sufi who lives by his passion and instinct for a cause, Mr. Khan has been an Avant-garde voice against the status-quo in Pakistan.

Eventually, his ascent to the most powerful job as Chief Executive of the country after 22 years of struggle, is realised.

National Youth Colloquium is one such organisation, which has seen many lows and highs as well throughout its journey but the passion and dedication to come up with innovative ideas for the youth of Pakistan can never be extinguished.

Thus, it's our solemn pledge to carry on doing whatever we can for the betterment and progress of Pakistan.

Lastly, team NYC wishes the newly elected premier of Pakistan for his vision of 'Naya Pakistan' in its signature style i.e. Art.

Welcome Mr. Prime Minister Imran Khan.

"There is no power on earth that can undo Pakistan."
- Muhammad Ali Jinnah, 30th October 1947

Team National Youth Colloquium (NYC) brings important messages on the day which is historic in all its form and manifestation.

It's a proud moment to live a life in a free country which was conceived in 1940 at Minto Park, Lahore, United India where Muslims of subcontinent sought socio-economic and religious rights.

In this regard, a small effort has been made to include few significant voices from across the globe such as one of an overseas self made couples in a developed social democracy i.e. Finland.
Secondly, a well known Finish doctor who is visiting Pakistan to explore its beauty, culture and ethos.
Eventually, a respected lady from abroad expresses herself.

The team is highly indebted for their time along with our members who strive to present a soft image of our country.

Please enkindle your patriotism and work collectively for the progress and prosperity of Pakistan in the words of our founding father, "to make it one of the greatest nations of the world".

"We are the descendants of the wild women you forgot.
We are the stories you thought would never be taught.
They should've checked the ashes of the women they burned alive.
Because it takes a single wild ember to bring a whole wildfire to life."
- Nikita Gill

Team NYC pays tribute to everyone from its respected women on Women's today.

To all the powerful women out there.
May you know them, may you be them and may you raise them.
Remember what you must do when they undervalue you, when they think your softness is your weakness, when they treat your kindness like it is their advantage.
More power to you.

"Reading maketh a full man."

Zulfiqar Halepoto, a name of its own kind, is a prolific writer who has a special interest in water discourse and has written numerous literature on variety of genres in his career.
Secondly, he's a socio-political activist per excellence keeping a deep insight into political dynamics of Sindh in particular and Pakistan in general.

Team NYC is highly indebted to his services for the organisation and especially acknowledges his utmost support and interaction with youth of Sindh.

Here are his views about one of his most favourite books with respect to "ReadOn" campaign.

01/01/2018

"Today is the first blank page of a 365 page book. Write a good one."

National Youth Colloquium welcomes the year 2018 with faith, dedication and purpose of servitude.
Therefore, it has started its 'ReadOn' campaign to make everyone realise that reading makes a full man and how necessary education is for every citizen of Pakistan.

Mr. Jinnah - as he liked to be called - was quoted ‘the most important man in Asia’ by credible sources at the time.
He prided himself for everything, particularly his appearance. He was said to never wear the same silk tie again and had nearly 200 tailored suits in his wardrobe. His clothes made him one of the best-dressed men in the world, preceded by Joseph Chamberlain.
Muhammad Ali Jinnah had an instinct for choosing the right clothes to make a cultural and a political statement. With this shift in his attire later in his life, he created a modern Muslim identity.
Such a composed, dedicated and visionary personality is rare to be found till date.
The most befitting compliments that can ever be received were by his arch-rivals and competitors.
Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi in an interview with Louis Fischer exclaimed, “Jinnah is incorruptible and brave”.
Equally weighted words came from a fiery orator and India’s first Prime Minister, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru.
He said, “Jinnah is one of the most extraordinary men in history”.

Contemplating on what he did single-handedly in carving something out of nothing in shape of largest Muslim country in the world back then, Pakistan is proud of its founding father.

On the 141st birthday of Muhammad Ali Jinnah, who earned the title of Quaid e Azam unanimously by all segments of society, irrespective of caste, creed, colour and religion, National Youth Colloquium (NYC) pays a momentous tribute to him by an artistic mastery, which is our forte.

As Pakistan turned 70 this year, with all our heart and endeavours, team NYC urges all and sundry, beginning from us, to come on a single platform to revive the inclusive characteristics of pluralism, tolerance and nation building of our country.
We have had a chequered political and constitutional history but if the intelligentsia, civil society, youth and state institutions work in harmony, we shall see the promised dawn.

Lastly, there’s a single message, which echoes since the inception in the land of pure.
“Do your duty and have faith in God. There is no power on earth that can undo Pakistan.”
- Muhammad Ali Jinnah

Have you heard the word gender?
Yes, most of us.
Its categories?
Yes, male and female.
What? Then whose the one in the picture? Isn't that human?
Yes, but (blah blah blah)
Wake up people.
Come & stand up for the rights of a class who are created by Allah Almighty Who also created you.

"I used to work as a waiter in a restaurant. There, the staff and the customers would often grope, ridicule and harass me. I felt extremely insecure and unsafe because of the constant abuse. I was paid lesser than the others even though I worked harder than everybody else. After a while my boss had me fired because I was a transgender and the customers felt uncomfortable. I pleaded for him to let me keep my job and earn in a dignified way but he didn't change his decision. Some time later my family abandoned me as I was jobless and my presence in the house prevented people from sending proposals for my younger sisters. I've now been brought down to the streets to beg. I'm denied jobs and treated like trash. Sometimes boys harass me in public and nobody raises a finger, they just watch and laugh at my misery. I want people to realise that I'm as human as everybody else and I feel the same emotions they do. I want to earn too and I want to be respected too."

Millions of Transgenders are at the mercy of the public. Team up with HBIH to bring a change in society and help the TG community empower themselves.

Prime ministers have been removed before and prime ministers have survived, but none have been subjected to the kind of public and mostly transparent scrutiny that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his family have undergone.
Eventually, he has been sent packing violating article 62(1)(f) of the constitution of Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

A comic picture below says in a style that has took social media frenzy of late.

EID UL FITR mubarak to all.

Team NYC wishes everyone to have safe, auspicious and countless blessings of Allah Almighty on EID and beyond.

Note: Do remember martyrs & those who are seriously injured in harrowing incidents that shook the country. May Allah grant patience & sanity to the bereaved families, Aameen.

No historian can say that there has been at any period of History anything comparable to this powerful institution of Islam, Fasting in the month of Ramadan.

It is the month to visit the poor, the sick, and the needy to share their sorrows. It is the month where the food, sustenance and the earnings of a believing Muslim increases and they are blessed," says the Prophet of Allah, Muhammad (peace be upon him).

Thus, cultivate Love, Elevate the Spirit, Develop the clarity of mind and body and since this month is no less than a boot camp, it trains us morally and spiritually.
So pray, gain as much as you can and celebrate the reward in the end.

"Main qabr andheri main, ghabraunga jab tanha.
Imdad meri karne ajana RasoolAllah."

A year gone by to the death of the Legendary Amjad Sabri, yet he still lives on in our hearts forever.
The maestro Qawwal, one of the famous artists and pride of our country who got gunned down on 16th of Ramzan.

Today, as we mark his one year death anniversary, team NYC condemns the sorrow and would like to play a little part in remembering the precious moments we had with him.
A gem that we lost forever. 😢
