In 1922, Sibghtullah Shah II [Sooreh Badshah] became Pir Pagara at the age of 12. He believed that British officers' behaviour towards the people of sindh was insulting and humiliating. He resented their behaviour and raised his voice against British rule. He organised the struggle against British rulers and encouraged others to do the same. British government arrested him in 1928 when he was 18. Muhammad Ali Jinnah was the first lawyer of Sooreh Badshah but Jinnah walked out of the court saying that British government wanted him in custody. He was jailed for 8 years. In 1936 he came out and started the movement which was called HUR MOVEMENT against the British government. Sooreh Badshah was offered the title of "SIR" by the British government for not interruption in sindh but his narrative was straight and forward " Wataan Ya Kafan , Azaadi ya Mout". In 1942 martial law was imposed [Hur Martial Act] to control the Hur movement and he was jailed again and martyred on 20th March 1943. (33)
At the moment when people were getting the titles of "SIR , KHAN BAHADUR" from British government, this young man was fighting for his homeland till to death. History gave him tittle of his struggles for his homeland SOOREH(Brave) Badshah(King). A huge respect for our real hero on the occasion of his death anniversary.
