SHSHIKARPUR – September 27, 2012: My Dear Friend, Mr. Iqbal Tareen, the favorite Son of Shikrapur, visited Shikarpur Youth Development Center, at Shikarpur Campus of Shah Abdul Latif University. He wasu greeted by Dr. Ghulam Raza Bhatti, Pro Vice Chancellor, Shikarpur Campus-Shah Abdul Latif University, and Mr. Aijaz Abro, Chairman Sindh Youth Council and the Shikarpur Youth Development Center, as well as the faculty members of the Shikarpur Campus.
Mr. Iqbal Tareen is a native of Shikarpur, Sindh. He was born in Kidi Atta Muhammad section of the city. He completed his early education in Shikarpur, and studied 9th and 10th, respectively, in Radhan and Kandhkot.
He moved to Hyderabad, to continue his higher education, and went to Government College, and Sindh University Engineering College, here.
It was here in Hyderabad, where he first got the test of politics, and took active role in the Sindhi nationalist movements. He fought for the rights of Sindh, and was among the front line leaders in the movement against the infamous One Unit. He was incarcerated for 7 months during the Ayub Khan’s dictatorial regime.
Mr. Iqbal Tareen was the founder President of Jeay Sindh Students Federation, and the designer of Sindhu Desh flag.
In 1982, he migrated to United States of America, and currently working as Senior Vice President in an IT company in Washington, DC. He is also the founder and president of Silver Lining, Inc., a nonprofit organization working for human rights and fighting against Hepatitis.
Mr. Tareern routinely holds literary and cultural meetings at his home in Washington.

Sir Zahid Jalbani, Sir Ghansham Rajani, Madam Murk Abro and I have very fond memories of our being with you for three days. Sir Ghansham has gone to Canada. You guys are really pride of Sindh. Nothing like you. You are simply the best in all respects.

I want to share a good news with all of you. During the past few months I had been regularly in touch with Saeen Nisar Ahmed Siddiqui Sahab.

He understands that a great majority of the Sukkur IBA students had missed the opportunity to attend our first seminar on Contemporary NGO Management. So, he has agreed to a second 3-day workshop for your colleagues, who could not attend the first one. We are currently working on a convenient date.

Very soon we will be with you and the new friends.
