DTTI Sindh Holds Strategic Meeting with Teachers Training Assessment Firm to Strengthen Teacher Education Systems

The Directorate of Teachers Training Institutions (DTTI), Sindh, Hyderabad, convened a high-level Focus Group Discussion (FGD) with the Teachers Training Assessment Firm (TTAF) on 18th November 2025. The meeting was held as part of an ongoing study aimed at developing a long-term, sustainable direction for pre-service and in-service teacher education across Sindh.

The session was chaired by Mr. Muhammad Umer Farooque Gabol, Deputy Director, and attended by senior faculty members and administrative officials including Mr. Abdul Wahid Samoon (Principal GECE Men Hyderabad), Syed Hussain Ali Shah (Deputy Director, DETRC Hyderabad), Mr. Muhammad Athar Raza Khan (Assistant Professor, GECE Men Hyderabad), Mr. Zohaib Haseeb, Mr. Shoaib Riaz, Mr. Sarwardin Jamali (Assistant Professors), and Mr. Anwar Saeed Qureshi (Technical Assistant).

The TTAF delegation was led by Dr. Nasir Jaleel, Team Leader, accompanied by Mr. Aamir Latif Siddiqui, Deputy Team Leader.

During the meeting, both sides engaged in constructive discussion on key thematic areas essential for strengthening teacher development in the province. The agenda focused on:

Future training plans and strategic directions

Development of a modular and competency-based training framework

Formulation of a comprehensive annual training calendar

Strengthening of Master Trainers and institutional capacity

Post-training teacher support and follow-up mechanisms

Standardized and research-based training resource development

Integration of inclusive education and special needs training

Long-term sustainability and vision for teacher development

The Directorate reaffirmed and reassured its resolve and commitment to enhance the quality of pre-service and in-service training, ensuring alignment with provincial reforms and national standards. The TTAF team appreciated DTTI’s contributions and emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts to improve learning outcomes across Sindh.

The meeting concluded with a mutual understanding to continue joint efforts toward modernizing and strengthening teacher education systems for a more effective and inclusive teaching workforce.

The Directorate of Teachers Training Sindh, Hyderabad organized a farewell ceremony in honor of Mr. Abdul Majeed Bhurt, former Additional Director TTIs, at GECE (Men) Hyderabad on Saturday, 25 October 2025. The event was attended by senior officers, officials, and faculty members from TTIs, DCAR, and GECEs/ DETRc of Hyd. Mr. Inayatullah Sheikh Additional Director TTIs warmly welcomed the guests and extended his heartfelt congratulations to Abdul Majeed Bhurt sb on his distinguished and successful career. Mr. Gul Muhammad Keerio, Mr. Pyaro Khan Saharan, , Mr. Sagheer Ahmed Sheikh, Mr. Idrees Jatoi and Mr. Noor Ahmed Khoso Director DCAR spoke about the commendable services of the former Additional Director TTIs for academic and administrative development in teachers’ training, curriculum, and assessment throughout his tenure. They also shared their memorable working experiences with him along with sharing of many interesting and pleasant memories from their time together. Mr. Abdul Wahid Samoon, Principal of Government Elementary College of Education (Men), Hyderabad, expressed his sincere gratitude to the guests and officials from TTIs and DCAR for gracing the farewell gathering with their presence.

A delegation from The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) led by Mr Yosh*taka Tanaka and was accompanied by Mr Akiko Hanaya visited TTI Directorate along with Mr. Zahoor Qazi today on September 30, 2025 to discuss the capacity of TTIs in conducting Mathematics training at the primary school level. Mr Tikam Das Harchandani, Deputy Director Led the TTI Team and was assisted by Mr Abdul Wahid Samoon, Mr Muhammad Umer Farooque Gabol, Mr. Sarwaruddin Jamali and Mr. Zohaib Hasseeb. The team briefed the JICA delegation about TTIs and their role and support for the project. The purpose of the visit was to review the existing facilities, teaching expertise, and institutional strengths that can support quality education. The project is currently under study to identify contextual issues faced in the field such as resource limitations, teacher preparedness, and curriculum alignment in subject of mathematics.
