Today marks the 78th anniversary of the independence of Pakistan. A blessing which was granted after innumerable sacrifices. No matter how insincere we become towards our holy land, we can withdraw from the reality that this soil grants us real liberation, the liberation to dream, to live, and to venture anywhere our heart craves.

The political flaws and challenges we encounter, these issues should serve as our motivation, not as a base from which to despair. True independence is not the absence of oppression, it is having the courage and resolve to rise beyond our failures, to defend that which was given to us, and to actively build a future that is deserving of the sacrifices made.

May we all learn to truly care for Pakistan not with words, but withour actions. 💚
