An inquiry has been ordered into the circumstances surrounding the incident that occurred on the intervening night of April 18 and 19, 2026, at Medicine Unit 1, Liaquat University Hospital, Jamshoro, involving an alleged security breach and reported misconduct by security personnel.

LUMHS Jamshoro has inaugurated its first modern electric bus service, launched by Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Ikram Din Ujjan.

The initiative provides free, safe, and efficient transportation within campus, reducing students’ financial burden and supporting an eco-friendly university system.

Previously, students spent Rs300 to Rs400 daily on travel between departments.

The new buses eliminate travel costs and offer comfortable commuting.

Serious security concerns raised over alleged harassment incident at LUH Jamshoro.

Concerns have been raised regarding an alleged incident in Medicine Unit 1, Ward 3 at Liaquat University Hospital (LUH) Jamshoro. It has been reported that a few individuals, allegedly under the influence of alcohol and claiming to be security personnel, including one identifying himself as a security supervisor, misbehaved with female attendants.

Such reports are deeply concerning and call for immediate attention from the hospital administration. Ensuring the safety and dignity of patients, attendants, and staff must remain a top priority.

It is pertinent to note that Medicine Unit 1, Ward 3 is the only ward in LUH Jamshoro where female doctors are assigned night duties. In light of this, incidents of this nature raise serious questions regarding the security arrangements and the safety of female duty doctors as well as female attendants.

The administration is urged to take swift and strict action to investigate the matter and implement necessary measures to prevent such occurrences in the future.

Authorities are considering dividing LUH Jamshoro and Hyderabad into independent units.
