Yesterday, the School of Business, Entrepreneurship, and Professional Development (SBEPD) arranged an industrial visit to the Corporate Tax Office, Islamabad of the Federal Board of Revenue for the students of Taxation, Financial Risk Management, and Business Finance. The visit was organized as part of the Organizational Visit and Expert Lecture component of the courses.
The students were warmly welcomed by Ms. Naureen Yaqub, Director General (OPS), FBR Islamabad, along with her team. During an insightful session of approximately one and a half hours, Ms. Yaqub delivered a comprehensive lecture covering the policies of FBR, an overview of the Inland Revenue and Customs divisions, taxpayer benefits, registration procedures, audit procedures, and the use of Artificial Intelligence in the processing and monitoring of tax returns.
Following the lecture, students were given a guided visit to the Individual Tax Returns Office, Corporate Tax Returns Office, and the Public Dealing Office, allowing them to observe the practical operations of the tax administration system.
The session was highly interactive, with students actively participating by sharing their views and posing thoughtful questions. The Director General and her team appreciated the engagement of our students and expressed their interest in future collaborations.
