Undergraduate student from Session 2022, Abdullah Mustafa Gondal (Project Lead) has officially secured the FIRST PATENT IN THE HISTORY OF RCET for his groundbreaking innovation: VISION AID - AI-Powered Smart Glasses designed to assist visually impaired individuals.

Supervised by Dr. Natasha Nigar (Department of Computer Science, RCET – UET Lahore), this high-impact research bridges cutting-edge artificial intelligence with affordable accessibility technology.

A GLOBAL ACHIEVEMENT. A PROUD MOMENT FOR UET RCET.

UET RCET is officially stepping onto the global stage!

Out of universities across the world, only 18 universities have been selected globally to host the prestigious IEEE Communications Society Student Tech Leadership Conference (IEEE ComSoc STLC) 2026 and UET RCET is proudly one of them.

This prestigious international grant was led and won by Engr. Faiqa Tariq, Lecturer, Electrical Engineering Department, UET RCET, a remarkable achievement that reflects her vision, relentless dedication, commitment to excellence, and true leadership.

Her achievement has brought an international IEEE ComSoc platform to RCET, marking a historic milestone for our institution.

A Proud Achievement of an RCET Alumnus
We are delighted to share the remarkable achievements of our alumnus Shaheryar Ahmed, who recently completed his MS in Future Convergence Engineering at Kongju National University, South Korea.
In recognition of his outstanding academic excellence and contributions to science and the development of the university, he has received the highest institutional awards ( Presidential Award and the Dean’s Award) at Kongju National University. He was also honored with the Excellent Journal Publication Award for publishing in a journal ranked among approximately the top 10% of JCR journals.
His research contributions include the development and optimization of laser structuring processes for advanced battery materials, achieving scan speeds exceeding the industrially benchmarked speed of 1,000 mm/s, while enhancing battery capacity under significantly higher discharge current densities of up to 10 A/g.
Beyond his research, Shaheryar actively contributed to academic development by conducting seminars and workshops with fellow researchers, training undergraduate students in laser–matter interaction and advanced characterization techniques, including the applied physics and chemistry of surfaces and interfaces.
He also demonstrated strong leadership and community engagement by organizing free language courses for international students after coordinating with and negotiating support from the International Office at Kongju National University. In addition, he has been actively supporting and guiding multiple international students in pursuing higher education and study-abroad opportunities, helping them navigate academic and application-related processes.
Adding another remarkable milestone to his journey, Shaheryar secured a position before his graduation as a Research & Development Manager of Automation Systems and Thermal Fluid Analysis at IWIN Solutions, a multinational company, where he will contribute to advanced AI-chip and semiconductor development projects associated with Tesla and Samsung.
RCET Gujranwala proudly congratulates Shaheryar Ahmed on these exceptional accomplishments and wishes him continued success in research, innovation, leadership, and technological development.

Heartiest congratulations to Abdul Hanan, 2010 Session, Electrical Engineering Department (EED), RCET, on winning the prestigious Best Research Paper Award at the IEEE PECon 2026 Conference in Malaysia.

This outstanding accomplishment is especially remarkable as it was achieved among distinguished researchers and participants from Australia, Germany, Italy, China, Hong Kong, Malaysia, and many other parts of the world.

Abdul Hanan’s achievement reflects not only his dedication, research excellence, and hard work, but also the strong academic foundation and research culture fostered at RCET.
