31 years have passed, but the pain of missing you has never truly gone away. Not a single day passes without remembering you, Ammi Jan.
You were not only my mother; you were my first teacher, my guide and a source of strength. You taught me to live with honesty, loyalty, simplicity and dedication, and above all, with courage, humility and patience.
So much has changed over these 31 years, but your love and memories have remained with me. I still carry the values you taught me and try to live my life in a way that would make you proud.
May Allah forgive you, bless your soul with eternal peace, and grant you the highest place in Jannatul Firdaus. May Allah also reward you for every lesson, every prayer and every sacrifice you made for us. Ameen.

With the grace and blessings of Almighty Allah, and inspired by the teachings of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), Alhamdulillah, we are delighted to share that the Thirteenth Edition of Business Taxation is now in press and will soon be available in the market.
This edition marks an important milestone in our 13-year journey of continuous improvement and development. With the prayers and support of our families, and the guidance and encouragement of our teachers, colleagues and students, we have continued to improve and update the book throughout these thirteen years.
For this edition, we have made every effort to modernise and strengthen the book, incorporating the latest developments in Income Tax and Sales Tax Laws applicable to Tax Year 2026–27.
We remain sincerely grateful to everyone whose prayers, guidance and encouragement have been part of this journey.

During my national-level accreditation assignment in Karachi as a Member of the Higher Education Commission (HEC) Accreditation Team (Management Sciences Expert), I had the privilege of visiting Al-Kawthar University and meeting Prof. Dr Niaz Ahmad Akhtar, SI(M), Chairman, Higher Education Commission, Pakistan.
I was honoured to receive his valuable guidance on my future academic aspirations and to express my sincere gratitude for his confidence in nominating me for this national assignment. His leadership and commitment to excellence remain a constant source of inspiration in my continued service to higher education.

An honour and a pleasure to meet Professor Dr Asghar Zaidi, former Vice Chancellor of the University of the Punjab and Government College University Lahore, at his office during my visit to KSBL, Karachi. I was also privileged to participate in an inspiring seminar by Prof. Dr Niaz Ahmad Akhtar, Chairman HEC Pakistan, on Character-Driven Leadership.
