A good pleading is not a long pleading—it is a clear one.
One recurring pattern I often see in Pakistani litigation is the tendency to overload pleadings with repetition. The same facts are restated multiple times, lengthy legal arguments are inserted, the entire background is narrated, and documents already annexed to the record are reproduced in the body of the pleading.
In my view, this does not make a pleading stronger. More often, it simply makes it harder to read.
Judges deal with dozens of case files every day. A well-drafted pleading should guide the Court directly to the material facts and the real issues in dispute. A judge should never have to search for the case you are trying to present.
As a general rule, if an ordinary plaint runs to 25 pages, there is a good chance it could have been written more effectively in far fewer.
An effective pleading should ensure that:
* Every sentence serves a purpose.
* Only material facts are pleaded.
* Legal arguments are reserved for submissions, not pleadings.
* Documents are allowed to speak for themselves instead of being reproduced in the text.
Before filing any pleading, ask yourself one simple question:
“Does this pleading make the judge’s job easier, or does it force the judge to dig through the file to find my case?”
Clarity, precision, and brevity are often more persuasive than length.

اگر پنجاب بار کونسل واقعی وکالت کے وقار کو بحال کرنا چاہتی ہے تو احتساب صرف چند سوشل میڈیا انفلوئنسر وکلاء تک محدود نہیں ہونا چاہیے۔ ایک ہی معیار سب پر لاگو ہونا چاہیے۔
جو وکلاء، خواہ مرد ہوں یا خواتین، سوشل میڈیا کو قانونی آگاہی کے بجائے شہرت، فحش یا غیر اخلاقی مواد، یا ایسے کنٹینٹ کے لیے استعمال کر رہے ہیں جو پیشۂ وکالت کی عزت اور ضابطۂ اخلاق کو مجروح کرتا ہے، ان کے خلاف بھی بلاامتیاز کارروائی ہونی چاہیے۔
Selective accountability انصاف نہیں، بلکہ منافقت ہے۔ اگر بار کونسل واقعی سنجیدہ ہے تو نام، حیثیت، فالوورز یا جنس دیکھے بغیر ہر اس وکیل کے خلاف کارروائی کرے جو پیشے کی ساکھ کو نقصان پہنچا رہا ہے۔
