Virtual University of Pakistan Gujranwala Campus held a ceremony on 22nd November, 2016 at VGJW01 to award Laptops to high achievers under the Prime Minister’s Laptop Scheme.
In Phase-I Prime Minister’s Laptop awarded to the students enrolled in MS/M.Phil. programs Only.
The selection of students enrolled in BS and Master Degree Programs is still under the process with the HEC.

Student Week 2016 Regional (Central-I) activities were organized on September 27, 2016 at Virtual University Head office. Students from Different cities of central region participated in this enthralling event. Students took part in the competitions of Speech, Play, Quiz and Singing with full enthusiasm and exhibited their talent.
Following are the details of winners:
- Team Faisalabad secured 1st Position in Short Play while Team Sahiwal stood second.
- Maria Ashraf & Imran Khan (Faisalabad) won Quiz competition against Khadija Tariq & Hadis Khan (Faisal Town Campus, Lahore)
- Husnain Shakeel (Lahore) secured 1st position in National Song Competition while Irrum Shazadi (Faisalabad) stood second.
- Aamir Gill (Sahiwal) was declared as Winner of VU Idol while Husnain Shakeel (Lahore)
- In Urdu Speech, Nayab Kokub (Gujranwala) secured 1st Position while Jamshaid Iqbal (Sahiwal) secured 2nd position.
- In English Speech, Zarmeen Irfan (Gujranwala) secured 1st Position while Mehreen Tahir (Faisalabad) secured 2nd Position.
All winners of regional level events will compete in national level event of Student Week 2016.
