In a significant step towards fostering global partnerships, GIFT University and Tang Chinese International Education & Technology have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on knowledge exchange, skill development, and international workforce mobility.
The Chairman of GIFT University, Muhammad Anwar Dar, and Song Jianying, CEO & President of Tang Chinese International Education & Technology, formalized this landmark partnership in the presence of distinguished representatives from both organizations.
During their visit to GIFT University, the Tang delegation explored the university’s state-of-the-art facilities, appreciating its commitment to academic excellence and industry-driven education. This collaboration is set to create new avenues for students and professionals, equipping them with the skills needed for the global market while contributing to economic growth.
This MoU marks the beginning of a transformative journey that will strengthen educational ties and open doors to exciting international opportunities.

Industry Advisory Board Meeting at GIFT University
On Tuesday, 7th January 2025, GIFT University’s Computer Science Department held its Industry Advisory Board meeting. Attended by Mr. Muhammad Ahmed, CTO of Brackets Pvt Ltd, and Mr. Muhammad Nadeem, CEO of Technic-mentors, the event also included Dr. Muhammad Ziad Nayyer, Dean of SEAS, Dr. Muhammad Faheem, HOD of Computer Science, and Mr. Zain Ul Abideen, Manager of Industry Linkages, SEAS.
The discussion focused on aligning elective and industry-led courses with current trends, enhancing industry involvement in Final Year Projects (FYPs), and showcasing FYPs through competitions. The board also addressed skills gaps and employability needs to better prepare students for the job market. The meeting concluded with a commitment to strengthen industry-academia collaboration, ensuring graduates are industry-ready and innovative.

On 20th November, SEAS hosted a faculty training session in the Seminar Hall on the topic "Outcome-Based Education: To the Point," led by Dr. Yasir Saleem, Associate Professor at UET Lahore.
The session offered valuable insights into implementing OBE strategies to enhance teaching effectiveness and align educational practices with desired outcomes. Faculty members actively engaged in discussions, gaining practical knowledge to improve student learning experiences and ensure academic excellence.

On October 30th, Dr. Muhammad Faheem, Head of the Computer Science Department, led an insightful session tailored to elevate teaching strategies for BS Computer Science faculty across Pakistan. Centered on critical aspects of modern education, Dr. Faheem emphasized methods to increase student engagement, maintain high standards of academic integrity, and integrate essential hands-on skills for real-world applicability.
The session also covered best practices for delivering timely, constructive assessment feedback, enabling faculty to foster a more interactive and supportive classroom experience. Participants gained a comprehensive toolkit of strategies to inspire and equip students for rewarding careers in tech. Heartfelt appreciation goes to Dr. Faheem for his invaluable contribution to advancing computer science education in Pakistan.

GIFT University welcomed Ms. Maria Sohail, a Machine Learning Engineer from the Royal Bank of Canada, for an engaging seminar on October 25, 2024. With her strong background in AI, data science, and experience from McGill University, Maria provided students, faculty, and management with valuable insights into Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and its real-world applications.
In the session, Maria introduced RAG, explaining its role in creating context-aware responses by combining information retrieval with machine learning. She shared best practices for integrating RAG into AI pipelines and discussed impactful case studies from her work at RBC, highlighting AI solutions that are reshaping customer experiences.
This seminar offered GIFT students and faculty a unique opportunity to learn directly from an industry expert, enhancing their understanding of advanced AI techniques and their practical uses in business settings.
