"Zakat expenditures are only for the poor, the needy, those employed to collect it, those whose hearts are to be reconciled, for freeing captives, for those in debt, in the cause of Allah, and for the stranded traveler."
(Surah At-Tawbah 9:60)

Quran Verse

"And when the ignorant address them harshly, they respond with words of peace."
— Surah Al-Furqan (25:63)

> "And when the ignorant speak to them harshly, they respond with words of peace."

Short Tafsir

In this verse, Allah describes one of the beautiful qualities of His true servants (Ibad-ur-Rahman). When ignorant or rude people speak to them in an offensive manner, they do not respond with anger, insults, or arguments. Instead, they reply with kindness, dignity, and peaceful words.

The phrase "They respond with words of peace" does not only mean saying "Peace be upon you"; it means avoiding unnecessary conflict, remaining patient, and displaying noble character. A true believer wins hearts through wisdom, humility, and self-control.

(Surah Al-Hujurat 49:11)

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Translation:

"O you who believe! Let not one group ridicule another; perhaps they may be better than them. Nor let women ridicule other women; perhaps they may be better than them. Do not insult one another, nor call each other by offensive nicknames. How evil it is to be called by a sinful name after having faith! And whoever does not repent—it is they who are the wrongdoers."
(Surah Al-Hujurat 49:11)

🌸 Short Tafsir

This verse teaches the beautiful manners that Islam expects from every believer. Allah forbids us from mocking, insulting, humiliating, or calling others by hurtful names because a person's true honor is based on faith (Iman), righteousness (Taqwa), and good character, not on wealth, appearance, race, or social status.

A Muslim's words should spread kindness, respect, and mercy. Before speaking, we should ask ourselves whether our words will bring hearts together or hurt someone.
