🌍 Participating in the 15th United Nations Crime Congress 2026 | Abu Dhabi, UAE.

I was honoured to participate on behalf of Centre for Sustainable Development – Pakistan in the 15th United Nations Congress on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice, held in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

The Congress provided a valuable platform to engage with international experts, policymakers, practitioners, youth representatives, and civil society organizations from around the world, with meaningful discussions on crime prevention, justice, the rule of law, youth engagement, and building safer and more sustainable societies.

My participation was an excellent opportunity to exchange experiences, strengthen international connections, and contribute to discussions on the role of civil society and young people in advancing justice and sustainable development.

🤝 Together, through dialogue, collaboration, and shared responsibility, we can contribute to stronger institutions, safer communities, and a more just and sustainable future.

🕊️ International Day in Support of Victims of Torture | 26 June

Today, 26 June, the world marks the International Day in Support of Victims of Torture a solemn reminder that torture is never justified under any circumstances. It is a day to stand in solidarity with survivors, honor their courage, and renew our commitment to justice, accountability, and the protection of human dignity.

Every person has the right to live free from torture, cruel, inhuman, or degrading treatment. Governments, institutions, and societies must work together to end impunity, uphold the rule of law, and ensure access to justice, rehabilitation, and support for victims.

Together, let us raise our voices against torture and reaffirm our shared responsibility to protect fundamental human rights for all.

Centre for Sustainable Development is honored to receive an official invitation from the Secretary of the Fifteenth United Nations Congress on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice to participate in the 15th UN Crime Congress, taking place from 26 September to 1 October 2026 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre, Abu Dhabi, UAE.

Centre for Sustainable Development looks forward to engaging with global leaders, policymakers, practitioners, and civil society representatives to advance dialogue on innovative and evidence-based crime prevention strategies that contribute to social, economic, and environmental development.

The conference provides an important platform to share Pakistan’s experiences in community-based ecosystem restoration, sustainable development, and inclusive approaches that strengthen resilience and promote safer communities.

On this World Day Against Child Labour, the Centre for Sustainable Development - Pakistan stands in solidarity with millions of children whose dreams are stolen by poverty, exploitation, and unsafe working conditions.

In Pakistan, millions of children remain out of school and many are forced into labour to support their families. Child labour deprives children of their fundamental rights to education, health, protection, and a dignified future. The burden is particularly severe in agriculture, domestic work, workshops, brick kilns, and informal sectors where children are often exposed to hazardous conditions.

Globally, an estimated 138 million children were engaged in child labour in 2024, including 54 million involved in hazardous work that threatens their health, safety, and development.

This year's message is clear: "Progress is clear, but there's more to do: Let's speed up efforts!" Governments, civil society, communities, businesses, and families must work together to end child labour and ensure every child has access to quality education and a safe childhood.

🧒 Protect childhood. Protect the future.

🌱 The 17th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD COP17) will convene under the theme:

"Restoring Land, Restoring Hope"

With land degradation impacting the lives and livelihoods of more than 3 billion people worldwide, COP17 will bring together governments, youth leaders, civil society, and experts to accelerate action on land restoration and drought resilience.

✅ Representatives nominated by UNCCD Youth Accredited Organizations
✅ Individual young leaders nominating themselves

📌 Eligibility Criteria
🔹 Age 18–35 years
🔹 From Africa, Asia-Pacific, Latin America & Caribbean, Central & Eastern Europe, or Western Europe & Others
