𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝐂𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐚𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐅𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐨𝐦 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐧:
Lawrence College Ghora Gali, Murree, organised a grand Freedom Marathon on the occasion of Pakistan’s Independence Day. The event was marked by tremendous enthusiasm, patriotic spirit, and active participation by students.
The marathon was formally inaugurated by the College Principal, Brigadier (Retd.) Jawad Ahmad Zaka, Sitara-e-Imtiaz (Military). Students from Intermediate to Class I participated in the marathon with great zeal and enthusiasm.
The campus reverberated with resounding slogans of “Pakistan Zindabad” and “Lawrence College Paindabad,” creating an atmosphere charged with patriotism and national pride.
At the conclusion of the marathon, a cake-cutting ceremony was held at the College as part of the Independence Day celebrations. The day also included house functions, speeches, national songs, poetry writing, and painting competitions centered on the theme of independence.
Speaking on the occasion, the Principal described the freedom of Pakistan as a great blessing from Almighty Allah. He urged the youth to make hard work, discipline, and high moral character the guiding principles of their lives and to play their full role in the progress and development of the country.
The Principal also appreciated the young participants for their patriotic spirit, discipline, sportsmanship, and enthusiasm. He emphasised that healthy, talented, and disciplined young people are the bright future of Pakistan. He encouraged students to excel not only in academics but also to participate actively in sports and other positive and constructive activities.
The Freedom Marathon was followed by other Independence Day activities at Lawrence College. The celebrations concluded with a renewed commitment to patriotism, national unity, and the progress and prosperity of Pakistan.
Special prayers were also offered for the security, stability, peace, and prosperity of Pakistan.
