It is with profound sorrow and deep grief that we share the sad demise of Lt Gen Imranullah Khan (Retd), 5 FF, who passed away on 23rd Aug, 2026.

A proud Old Gallian, he joined Lawrence College in 1950. He was a founding member of OGAP and served as its First President.

His demise is a great loss to the Old Gallians fraternity. We extend our heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family.

May Allah Almighty shower His infinite mercy upon the departed soul, forgive his shortcomings, and grant him eternal peace and the highest place in Jannat-ul-Firdous.

Remembering Our Sporting Legends

At Lawrence College Ghora Gali, achievements are never forgotten, and legends are always remembered.

On Sports Day, the College proudly acknowledged the remarkable sporting contributions of its distinguished Old Gallians who brought honour to Lawrence College through exceptional achievements at national and international levels and by setting memorable records during their time at the College.

As two of our revered sporting legends, Brigadier Zafar Hayat and Mr Farooq Meyer, were unable to attend the Sports Day (30th July 2026) due to health reasons, the College ensured that this tribute reached them personally.

On the special initiative of Principal Brigadier Jawad Ahmad Zaka, SI(M), Brigadier Zafar Hayat was presented with the College medal, certificate and souvenirs at his residence in Lahore by faculty members, while the Old Gallians fraternity was represented by Mr Faisal Niazi.

Similarly, Mr Farooq Meyer received the College's token of recognition in Sialkot through a member of the Lawrence College team, while the wider Old Gallian family was represented by his son, Mr Hassan Meyer, who is also an Old Gallian.

This gesture was more than the presentation of souvenirs. It was a heartfelt message from the Lawrence College family: we remember, we acknowledge, and we remain proud of those who carried the College's name to sporting glory.

Once a Gallian, always a part of the Lawrence legacy.

Lawrence College Ghora Gali, Murree, proudly celebrates the distinguished achievements of three Old Gallians and a valued Member of the Board of Governors, who have been honoured with prestigious national awards on Independence Day 2026:

1. Raja Changez Sultan (SC 1965, Wright House) — Sitara-e-Imtiaz for his outstanding contribution to art and painting.

2. Cdr Syed Ali Sarfraz (Inter 1997, Pakistan Navy) — Tamgha-e-Imtiaz (Military) for his distinguished services to Pakistan.

3. Dr Hafiz Ghulam Murtaza (Inter 1981) — Hilal-e-Imtiaz for his services to the country.

4. Dr Faisal Saud Dar, Member, Board of Governors — Hilal-e-Imtiaz for his outstanding public services.

Heartiest congratulations to all our distinguished awardees. Their achievements are a matter of immense pride for the entire Lawrence College family and a reflection of the enduring legacy of our alma mater.

𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝐂𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐚𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐅𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐨𝐦 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐧:

Lawrence College Ghora Gali, Murree, organised a grand Freedom Marathon on the occasion of Pakistan’s Independence Day. The event was marked by tremendous enthusiasm, patriotic spirit, and active participation by students.

The marathon was formally inaugurated by the College Principal, Brigadier (Retd.) Jawad Ahmad Zaka, Sitara-e-Imtiaz (Military). Students from Intermediate to Class I participated in the marathon with great zeal and enthusiasm.

The campus reverberated with resounding slogans of “Pakistan Zindabad” and “Lawrence College Paindabad,” creating an atmosphere charged with patriotism and national pride.

At the conclusion of the marathon, a cake-cutting ceremony was held at the College as part of the Independence Day celebrations. The day also included house functions, speeches, national songs, poetry writing, and painting competitions centered on the theme of independence.
Speaking on the occasion, the Principal described the freedom of Pakistan as a great blessing from Almighty Allah. He urged the youth to make hard work, discipline, and high moral character the guiding principles of their lives and to play their full role in the progress and development of the country.

The Principal also appreciated the young participants for their patriotic spirit, discipline, sportsmanship, and enthusiasm. He emphasised that healthy, talented, and disciplined young people are the bright future of Pakistan. He encouraged students to excel not only in academics but also to participate actively in sports and other positive and constructive activities.

The Freedom Marathon was followed by other Independence Day activities at Lawrence College. The celebrations concluded with a renewed commitment to patriotism, national unity, and the progress and prosperity of Pakistan.

Special prayers were also offered for the security, stability, peace, and prosperity of Pakistan.

After a gap of 12 years, Lawrence College successfully revived its grand tradition of the Marathon on 14th August.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from all three schools, Junior, Prep, and Senior School. Students displayed remarkable energy, sportsmanship, and determination.

The marathon was graced by the presence of all teachers, Heads of Schools, and the Principal, who appreciated and encouraged the participants.

We are proud to announce that Wightwick House secured 1st position in all the three schools, Junior, Prep, and Senior School.

We would also like to extend our sincere appreciation to the Director of Sports and his dedicated team for their excellent organization and efforts in making this event a great success.

The revival of the marathon has reignited school spirit and we look forward to making it a regular feature of college life.
