The Department of Urdu organized a dignified and meaningful event to observe the Day of Gratitude in connection with “Operation Bunyan-ul-Marsoos.” The event aimed to create awareness among students regarding the significance of the day while promoting patriotism, national unity, social responsibility, and love for the homeland.
The ceremony was graced by Professor Engineer Abdul Sattar Naeem, Director Iqbal Chair, Riphah International University Faisalabad Campus, as the Chief Guest. Professor Dr Shabbir Ahmed Qadri, Associate Professor (Retd.), Former HOD Department of Urdu, Government College University Faisalabad & Riphah International University Faisalabad Campus, Professor Tahir Sadiqi, Director Curriculum & Research, Kinzul Madaris Board, and Mr Asghar Ali Tabassum, Renowned Poet, Journalist, Chief Editor, Roznama “Naya Ujala” Faisalabad, attended as Guests of Honor, adding historical, intellectual, and literary significance to the occasion.
Addressing the gathering, Dr Riaz Majeed, Head, Department of Urdu, TUF, highlighted the importance of patriotism, national harmony, and responsible citizenship. He encouraged students to play a constructive role in society and expressed gratitude to the honorable guests for their valuable participation, considering their presence a matter of pride for the institution

The Department of Urdu, The University of Faisalabad, organized a seminar titled “Urdu Naat Tradition in Chicago: Its Development and Significance,” bringing together renowned scholars, poets, and students to expltore the spiritual, literary, and cultural dimensions of Naat-e-Rasool (ﷺ). The session highlighted the role of the Urdu diaspora in preserving and promoting this rich tradition across borders.

The Department of Urdu, The University of Faisalabad organized an international seminar titled “The Contemporary Significance of Iqbal’s Poetry,” bringing together scholars and students to explore the timeless relevance of Allama Muhammad Iqbal’s thought for today’s world. The session was chaired by Dr Riaz Majeed, HOD Riaz Majeed and moderated by Dr Syed Mahmood Mursal, with renowned Iqbaliat scholar Professor Dr Syed Taqi Abedi (Canada) gracing the event as Chief Guest. Distinguished guests Dr Sadaf Naqvi and Dr Saira Akhtar shared insightful perspectives, highlighting Iqbal’s philosophy of Khudi as a source of self-awareness, moral strength, and collective responsibility.
On the same occasion, under the auspices of the Department of Urdu, The University of Faisalabad, the book “Umm Zahra Syeda Khadija (peace be upon her)” by Naseer Warsi was formally launched on 13 December 2025. The unveiling ceremony was performed by Professor Dr Syed Taqi Abedi (Canada), while Dr Sadaf Naqvi and Dr Saira Akhtar presented their scholarly reflections on the book. The successful organization of the event was made possible through the dedicated efforts of Dr. Rubina Yasmin and Ms. Mubashara Faryad.
The active participation of MPhil and PhD scholars enriched the academic discourse, making the event a meaningful and intellectually rewarding experience.
