On October 27, 2025, the NTU-PMYDC Media Club and Photography Society of National Textile University (NTU) organized a Black Day Kashmir Walk to express solidarity with the people of Kashmir and condemn the illegal occupation of Jammu & Kashmir.
Students and faculty participated in the walk carrying banners and chanting slogans in support of Kashmir’s right to self-determination. The walk was led by Dr. Shahzad Iqbal, Mr. Farooq Jamal, Ms. Nadia Shamim (Assistant Director Student Affairs), Mr. Waseem (Deputy Registrar), and Mr. Naeem (Security Incharge), representing the NTU community’s unity with the Kashmiri people.
The walk concluded with prayers for peace, freedom, and justice for the people of Kashmir.

Islamic Calligraphy Painting Workshop with Sir Saifullah Nafeesi
The NTU-PMYDC Visual arts Society of the School of Arts and Design (SOAD) successfully organized an Islamic Calligraphy Painting Workshop on October 28, 2025, featuring the renowned calligrapher Sir Saifullah Nafeesi.
The session began with an insightful demonstration by Sir Saifullah, who introduced students to the rich history and origins of Islamic calligraphy. He discussed the spiritual and artistic significance of the art form, highlighting its deep connection with Islamic culture and tradition.
Students were then guided through the tools and materials traditionally used in calligraphy, such as Qalam, brushes, colors, and suitable canvas preparation. Sir Saifullah also shared practical tips on posture, brush handling, and stroke techniques that bring harmony and balance to calligraphic compositions.
Following the demonstration, students had the opportunity to practice their own calligraphic pieces, applying the methods and principles they had just learned. The studio came alive with creativity as participants produced beautiful calligraphy artworks under Sir Saifullah’s guidance.
The workshop provided an enriching experience for all attendees, deepening their appreciation for Islamic art and encouraging them to continue exploring the aesthetic and spiritual dimensions of calligraphy.
The university extends its heartfelt thanks to Sir Saifullah Nafeesi for his time, expertise, and inspiring mentorship, and to all the students who participated with great enthusiasm.

Public Awareness Seminar on "Nuclear and Radiation Safety in Pakistan" By PNRA
The Pakistan Nuclear Regulatory Authority (PNRA) held a Public Awareness Seminar on “Nuclear and Radiation Safety in Pakistan” at the National Textile University (NTU), Faisalabad, on October 23, 2025. The NTU PMYDC Society of Chemistry organized the event.
The session aimed to enhance understanding of nuclear and radiation safety among students and faculty, strengthening collaboration between the regulatory body, academia, and industry.
Mr. Rana Muhammad Nadeem, Principal Scientific Officer (PNRA), and Mr. Amir Mahmood, Principal Engineer (PNRA), addressed the audience, highlighting key aspects of radiation protection, safety, and regulatory practices in Pakistan.
Dr. Zulfiqar Ali Raza Chairman (NTU Department of Applied Science), highlighted that the event aimed to raise public awareness and promote understanding of radiation safety.
After the seminar, Dr. Muhammad Tahir Hussain (Dean, School of Sciences), faculty members, and Ms. Nadia Shamim (Assistant Director, Student Affairs) held a discussion with the PNRA team on future collaboration initiatives.
