July 08, 2026. Dr. Fazeela Arshad completed her PhD at NIBGE, emerging as the 500th PhD student of PIEAS. The event was marked with a cake-cutting ceremony, graced by the presence of Rector PIEAS, Director NIBGE, Dean (Research) PIEAS, and Director NIAB. Dr. Fazeela was also acknowledged as the 298th PhD graduate of NIBGE.

PhD thesis:
Development of Broad-spectrum Insect Resistance in Model Plant System using Multi-mechanistic Strategies.

His research explored innovative ways to create plants that are resistant to a wide range of insect pests. This work is a significant step forward in developing sustainable solutions for crop protection and could have a major impact on agricultural practices.
