Recognized among the reputable universities in China, Jiangxi University of Science and Technology is ranked among the top universities in China and is particularly well known for its excellence in engineering, technology, and applied sciences. This initiative reflects CI-UAF’s continuous commitment to providing world-class educational opportunities, international exposure, and fully funded study pathways for Pakistani students.

A High-Level Chinese Delegation from Zhejiang University Visited CI-UAF to Strengthen Sino-Pak Collaboration
FAISALABAD, May 23, 2026 – A high-level delegation from Zhejiang University, one of China’s premier institutions, visited the University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF) to solidify academic collaboration, launch joint research initiatives, and establish the Sino-Pakistan International Joint Laboratory on Crop Health. The delegation comprised Professor Dr. Zhou Wenwu, Professor Dr. Imran Haider Shamsi, and Dr. Yang Liang.
During a productive meeting with UAF Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Zulfiqar Ali and senior university leadership, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to deepening cooperation in agricultural innovation, research commercialization, and faculty exchange programmes. The most significant outcome was the establishment of a Sino-Pak Crop Health Laboratory at UAF with active Chinese collaboration. Several key UAF departments – including Entomology, Agronomy, Soil Sciences, and Plant Breeding & Genetics – will work jointly under this lab to tackle emerging crop health challenges through cutting-edge research and technology transfer.
The discussions also reviewed concrete proposals for promoting joint scientific research and establishing advanced laboratories to address Pakistan’s most pressing agricultural issues. The participants exchanged actionable ideas on enhancing international linkages and creating meaningful opportunities for students and researchers. Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Zulfiqar Ali briefed the delegation on UAF’s ongoing research projects, state-of-the-art academic facilities, technological advancements, and the remarkable progress of the Confucius Institute at UAF as a hub for Sino-Pak cultural and scientific exchange.
Following the meeting, the delegation visited the Confucius Institute (CI-UAF) , accompanied by Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Zulfiqar Ali, Dean of Agriculture Professor Dr. Ghulam Murtaza, Chairman of Entomology Professor Dr. Waseem Akram, Chairman of Agronomy Professor Dr. Nadeem Akbar, Professor Dr. Amir Shakeel, Dr. Humaira Razzaq, Dr. Zia ul Haq, Dr. Fahd Rasul, and other distinguished faculty members. Dr. Saddam Hussain, Vice Chairman/Dean of the Confucius Institute, presented a comprehensive briefing on CI-UAF’s role as an enduring bridge for Pak-China cooperation. The delegation highly appreciated the Institute’s efforts in promoting people-to-people connections alongside scientific collaboration, recognizing it as a model for international academic partnership.
The delegation also toured the UAF Exhibition Centre, the advanced laboratories of the Department of Entomology, and the Centre of Advanced Studies, witnessing firsthand the university’s research capabilities and technological infrastructure. The visit concluded with a shared vision for expanded collaboration, further strengthening the growing Sino-Pak scientific alliance.

Confucius Institute at University of Agriculture Faisalabad hosted a Traffic Awareness Seminar in collaboration with the City Traffic Police Faisalabad. CTO Nasir Javed Rana and his team conducted an interactive session on road safety, traffic rules, helmet and seat belt usage, and responsible road behavior, promoting a safer and more aware community among students and faculty.

Traffic Awareness Seminar Held at Confucius Institute, UAF
FAISALABAD – The City Traffic Police Faisalabad Education Unit organized a Traffic Awareness Seminar at the Confucius Institute, University of Agriculture Faisalabad. Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Mr. Nasir Javed Rana visited the Institute and addressed the participants.
Students and faculty members were briefed on essential traffic rules, lane discipline, safe road crossing practices, and the importance of wearing helmets and seat belts. The session was designed to promote responsible road behavior and enhance road safety awareness among the university community.
Mr. Nasir Javed Rana and his education team delivered an interactive lecture, emphasizing civilized mobility and the shared responsibility of all road users.
Dr. Saddam Hussain, Dean-CIUAF, appreciated the role of CTO Mr. Nasir Javed Rana in shaping revolutionary steps for traffic management and road safety in Faisalabad. He commended the police team’s efforts to engage educational institutions in building a safety-conscious culture.
The seminar concluded with a vote of thanks to the City Traffic Police for their continued commitment to public awareness.

Students from the Confucius Institute at the University of Agriculture, Faisalabad (CI UAF) participated in the 2026 “Culture China · Water Cube Cup” Regional Finals in Islamabad. Among over 220 applicants, CI UAF contestants delivered outstanding performances and won multiple top honors, including the Youth Group Awards and the Cultural Exchange Ambassador Award. Their success highlights the high level of Chinese language and cultural proficiency nurtured at CI UAF.
