The University of Faisalabad (TUF) was established to cater to the educational and technological needs emerging in the progressive scenario of the country in general and surrounding areas in particular, with a missionary spirit, commitment, and enthusiasm in line with the vision of its founders. The distinguished Faisalabad University aspires for an appropriate balance between the emerging disciplines of science and technology and prevalent humanities and social sciences fields. The History of TUF shows that it is approved as a degree-awarding University by the Government of the Punjab, Law and Parliamentary Affairs Department vide Punjab Ordinance No LX of 2002. The Higher Education Commission recognizes it as a degree-awarding University.

Rector TUF Advocates Stronger Industry–Academia Linkages for Industry Prioritized Research and Future-Ready Graduates

Prof Dr Aman Ullah Malik, Rector, The University of Faisalabad, participated in a high-level Round Table Conference at The Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and industry (FCCI) focused on “Industry–Academia Collaboration: Bridging the Gap Between Academia, Industry and the Job Market.”

Hosted by Mr Farooq Yousaf Sheikh, President FCCI, the session brought together Vice Chancellors and Rectors of Faisalabad’s universities, VC, University of Kamalia, VC, Baba Guru Nanak University Nankana Sahib, former presidents of FCCI and key industry stakeholders.

The discussion emphasized strengthening academia–industry linkages through collaboration, innovation, practical learning, internships, and industry-prioritized research & development. Participants highlighted the need to align academic curricula and skills development with evolving industry requirements, enabling graduates to become more employable, adaptable and competitive in a rapidly changing professional landscape. The shareholders agreed to establish a common platform to achieve the objectives.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed today between The University of Faisalabad and Haaks Vethum Poultry, a well renowned pharmaceutical industry, marking an important step towards strengthening industry–academia collaboration and creating meaningful opportunities for students and faculty.

The MOU was formally signed by Brigadier Shafiq Khan Niazi, CEO, HAAKS Vethum, and Prof Dr Aman Ullah Malik, Rector, TUF.

The signing ceremony was witnessed by Mr Zain Ali, Procurement Officer HAAKS Vethum and Prof Dr Saba Tariq, Dean, Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, and Dr Aamna Habib, Principal, Madina College of Pharmacy. Dr Sadia Rafique was also present on the occasion.

The collaboration aims to promote student internships and training, professional development, knowledge exchange, research collaboration and enhanced industry exposure, providing students with valuable opportunities to connect academic learning with real-world professional practice. This partnership reflects TUF’s commitment to fostering strong industry linkages and preparing graduates with the skills, knowledge, and practical experience needed to excel in the pharmaceutical and healthcare sectors.
