The Dental Technology and Dental Hygiene students conducted an informative project presentation session organized by the Department of Dental Sciences. The event, held under the supervision of Dr. Tayyaba Ahmad and Ms. Mahnoor Siddiqui, featured evaluations by Dr. Munnaza Saleem, Dr. Nida Khan, and Dr. Tahmeena Atiq. Students presented creative and educational models focusing on dental hygiene awareness, identification of dental anomalies, caries prevention methods, and advancements in dental technology, including modern tools and digital dentistry. The session highlighted the importance of oral hygiene, early diagnosis, and preventive dentistry, while evaluators provided valuable feedback to strengthen students’ clinical and presentation skills. The activity aimed to enhance practical learning, promote awareness of preventive dental care, introduce technological innovations, and encourage scientific, model-based learning. The event concluded successfully, demonstrating the students’ commitment and the effective guidance of the faculty.

The Department of Dental Sciences hosted a seminar on “Integration of Digital Dentistry in Oral Health Promotion” to enhance the digital skills of BS Dental Technology and Dental Hygiene students.

Dr. Ateeq-ur-Rehman demonstrated intraoral scanning techniques and discussed their clinical applications in prosthodontics, orthodontics, implants, and digital smile design. Dr. Hina Barkaat highlighted the role of dental auxiliaries in digital workflows, including record management and patient communication.

Students actively engaged, learning about digital tools, software, and career opportunities in digital dentistry. The seminar reinforced the importance of modern technology in oral health promotion and supported UN Sustainable Development Goals for health, education, and innovation.

The Department of Dental Sciences, TUF, conducted an educational tour to 3D Dental Lab, Islamabad, on October 16, 2025, for final-year BS Dental Technology students. The visit aimed to enhance students’ understanding of modern digital technologies in dental prosthesis fabrication, aligning with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality Education and SDG 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure.

The primary objective of the visit was to provide students with practical exposure to international-standard dental laboratory operations and advanced digital prosthodontic technologies. This initiative bridged the gap between theoretical knowledge and clinical application, allowing students to explore cutting-edge CAD/CAM systems and 3D printing techniques that are revolutionizing dental technology worldwide.

During the visit, students observed the fabrication of zirconia and lithium disilicate crowns along with the digital designing of full and partial dentures. The lab professionals highlighted the importance of aesthetics, functionality, and patient comfort at every stage of prosthesis development.
