Honey

Natural antibiotic.

1400 years ago people knew that honey was delicious and nutritious but nobody knew that it had healing properties. Today we know that honey is a natural antibiotic.

When honey is applied on wounds or burns it hinders the growth of microbes.

Honey: Its Medicinal Property And Antibacterial Activity

The healing property of honey is due to the fact that it offers antibacterial activity, maintains a moist wound condition, and its high viscosity helps to provide a protective barrier to prevent infection. Its immunomodulatory property is relevant to wound repair too. The antimicrobial activity in most honeys is due to the enzymatic production of hydrogen peroxide. However, another kind of honey, called non-peroxide honey (viz., manuka honey), displays significant antibacterial effects even when the hydrogen peroxide activity is blocked. Its mechanism may be related to the low pH level of honey and its high sugar content (high osmolarity) that is enough to hinder the growth of microbes.

Honey hinders the growth of microbes; less microbes leads to faster healing of wounds... This was only known recently, however it was portrayed in the Quran 1400 years before it was discovered.

And your Lord (Allah) revealed to the bees: Build your hives in mountains, trees and in what they build. Then eat from every fruit and follow your Lord's enslaved paths, from its bellies exits drink of different colors, in it healing for man. These are signs for those who contemplate.

٦٨ وَأَوْحَىٰ رَبُّكَ إِلَى النَّحْلِ أَنِ اتَّخِذِي مِنَ الْجِبَالِ بُيُوتًا وَمِنَ الشَّجَرِ وَمِمَّا يَعْرِشُونَ

٦٩ ثُمَّ كُلِي مِنْ كُلِّ الثَّمَرَاتِ فَاسْلُكِي سُبُلَ رَبِّكِ ذُلُلًا ۚ يَخْرُجُ مِنْ بُطُونِهَا شَرَابٌ مُخْتَلِفٌ أَلْوَانُهُ فِيهِ شِفَاءٌ لِلنَّاسِ ۗ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَآيَةً لِقَوْمٍ يَتَفَكَّرُونَ

"Shefa شِفَاءٌ" means healing. Here the Quran is referring to the healing properties of honey (not the nutritious ones). Today we know that honey is a natural antibiotic.

Fear

Linked to the heart.

1400 years ago nobody knew that fear is linked to the heart. Today we know this is false; fear is felt in the heart just as in the brain.

The heart is able to influence how the brain responds to a fearful event, depending on which point it is at in its regular cycle of contraction and relaxation:

Cognitions and emotions can be influenced by bodily physiology. Here, we investigated whether the processing of brief fear stimuli is selectively gated by their timing in relation to individual heartbeats. Emotional and neutral faces were presented to human volunteers at cardiac systole, when ejection of blood from the heart causes arterial baroreceptors to signal centrally the strength and timing of each heartbeat, and at diastole, the period between heartbeats when baroreceptors are quiescent. Participants performed behavioral and neuroimaging tasks to determine whether these interoceptive signals influence the detection of emotional stimuli at the threshold of conscious awareness and alter judgments of emotionality of fearful and neutral faces. Our results show that fearful faces were detected more easily and were rated as more intense at systole than at diastole. Correspondingly, amygdala responses were greater to fearful faces presented at systole relative to diastole. These novel findings highlight a major channel by which short-term interoceptive fluctuations enhance perceptual and evaluative processes specifically related to the processing of fear and threat and counter the view that baroreceptor afferent signaling is always inhibitory to sensory perception.

We will throw fear into the hearts of those who disbelieve, because they attribute to Allah partners for which He revealed no sanction. Their lodging is the Fire. Miserable is the lodging of the evildoers.

١٥١ سَنُلْقِي فِي قُلُوبِ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا الرُّعْبَ بِمَا أَشْرَكُوا بِاللَّهِ مَا لَمْ يُنَزِّلْ بِهِ سُلْطَانًا ۖ وَمَأْوَاهُمُ النَّارُ ۚ وَبِئْسَ مَثْوَى الظَّالِمِينَ

"We will throw fear into the hearts of those who disbelieve" today we know that fear is linked to the heart. No mistakes in the Quran.

What Quran Says About Work?

In physics, work against gravity is simply weight multiplied by displacement.

Work by gravity

In the absence of other forces, gravity results in a constant downward acceleration of every freely moving object. Near Earth's surface the acceleration due to gravity is g = 9.8 m.s-2 and the gravitational force on an object of mass m is Fg = mg. It is convenient to imagine this gravitational force concentrated at the center of mass of the object. If an object is displaced upwards or downwards a vertical distance y2 − y1, the work W done on the object by its weight mg is:

W = Fg (y2-y1) = Fg Δy = - mg Δy

where Fg is weight (pounds in imperial units, and newtons in SI units), and Δy is the change in height y. Notice that the work done by gravity depends only on the vertical movement of the object. The presence of friction does not affect the work done on the object by its weight.

"Aamal عمل" means work. In this verse "Yaamal يَعْمَلْ" means do work. Here work (W) is linked to weight (mg).
