The Second Sunday of Advent: A Covenant of Preparation and Peace
Today we light the second Advent candle, often called the Bethlehem Candle. This candle symbolizes Peace. It reminds us of Mary and Joseph’s journey to Bethlehem, the destination where the Prince of Peace was born.
On the Second Sunday, we heed the urgent preaching of John the Baptist, who calls for active preparation to clear the way for the Lord. John's message is one of repentance—to "turn around" from sin and reform our lives so our hearts are ready for Christ. As the scripture commands:
"A voice of one calling: 'In the wilderness prepare the way for the Lord; make straight in the desert a highway for our God'" (Isaiah 40:3).This Advent, we are called to seek peace—first within our own hearts, and then in the world around us.
A Prayer for Peace:
O God, you are our refuge and strength. We prepare our hearts before you that we may welcome your Son, the Prince of Peace, who is coming to bestow peace upon the world. Amen.

The First Sunday of Advent: A Call to Hope and Vigilance
Today marks the beginning of the Christian liturgical year—the First Sunday of Advent.This four-week season is a time of preparation, directing our focus toward two great comings: the historical birth of Christ (the Incarnation) and his ultimate return at the end of time (the Second Coming).
On this first Sunday, we light the Prophecy Candle, symbolizing the theme of Hope.This hope is rooted in the promises of God, recalling how the Old Testament prophets foretold the coming Savior.
The scripture calls us to active preparation, urging us to "stay awake!" and "be prepared" for the Lord's arrival. As Romans 13:12-14 instructs, we must "cast off the works of darkness" and "put on the Lord Jesus Christ".
A Prayer of Hope:
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit (Romans 15:13).10

It was a great privilege to worship with the historic Swift Memorial Presbyterian Church in Gujranwala. Sharing fellowship and the Word of God in such a sacred space was truly a blessing.

We extend our deepest gratitude to the esteemed Moderator Rev. Arif Siraj sb for giving us the chance to not only share the work of the PBCS Ministry but also to bring the Word of God to the congregation.

Our Principal, Rev. Eli Sardar shared the word of God from Isaiah 6:1-10 titled "Before the throne of a Holy & loving God."

We are grateful for the honor that Swift Memorial Presbyterian Church bestowed upon us.

We praise God for allowing us to help the church grow in the knowledge of God and for equipping the rural church leaders through the 1 Year Ministry Essential Training Program. Stay tuned the updates. Below are few highlights from last year.

PBCS is committed to strengthen and equip the church. In this effort METP program provides basic education in essential biblical and theological principles for ministry. The program is designed for pastors and ministry leaders who do not have access to seminary education. This training is biblically and theologically foundational. It is practical in orientation as it focuses on essentials but is comprehensive in scope. This training comprises of 12 modules which are delivered over a span of 12 months. Facilitators from different churches and seminaries have come alongside to help equip the village leaders. Each session of the program covers a specific topic and includes interactive discussions to facilitate learning.
