LUMS mourns the passing of Syeda Perwin Babar Ali, wife of our Founding Pro Chancellor, Syed Babar Ali, and a cherished member of the LUMS family.

Remembered for her warmth, grace and love of literature and the arts, Mrs. Ali was an author and a graduate of Kinnaird College, Lahore. She shared a close bond with the University. Her autobiography, A Free Spirit, was launched at LUMS in 2019, and Perwin Hall, named in her honour, has been home to generations of LUMS students.

Our deepest condolences to Syed Babar Ali, Syed Hyder Ali, Syeda Henna Ali and their families.
