On 9th February 2026, an engaging academic visit was organized by Mr. Murtaza (Coordinator for Academic Visits) from the Department of Biochemistry & Biotechnology, University of Faisalabad. Accompanied by Ms. Zunaira Kiran, the students of 4th Semester Biotechnology visited the Central Hi-Tech Laboratory, Government College University Faisalabad (GCUF), New Campus Jhang Road ๐ซโจ
During this enriching experience, students were introduced to and guided through a range of state-of-the-art analytical and research techniques, including:

The Department of Biochemistry & Biotechnology, Amin Campus, The University of Faisalabad, successfully hosted World DNA Day 2026 Poster & Model Competition, where students showcased outstanding ideas through creative models and informative posters.
With expert evaluation by Dr Shaista Shafiq, Head, Department of Biotechnology and Dr Amna Habib, Head, Department of Pharmacy the event highlighted talent, dedication, and a passion for biotechnology. Certificates were awarded to appreciate the remarkable efforts of all participants.

A remarkable day of learning, exploration, and inspiration! ๐ฑ๐ฌโจ
Mr. Murtaza (Coordinator for Academic visits) from the Department of Biochemistry & Biotechnology, The University of Faisalabad ๐, accompanied by Ms. Zunaira Kiran and Ms. Kashaf, organized an enriching scientific and academic tour to Center for Applied Molecular Biology Punjab University (CAMB), Lahore๐ข for the students of 6th and 8th semester of Biotechnology ๐งซ.
The visit provided students with an incredible opportunity to explore cutting-edge facilities, including the BSL-3 laboratory ๐ฆ , Forensics Lab ๐, Health Biotechnology Lab ๐งฌ, GMO plant development facilities ๐ฟ, and advancements in edible vaccine development ๐, Plant Molecular diagnostic Lab. It was truly an eye-opening experience that bridged theoretical knowledge with real-world applications in modern biotechnology ๐.

The Environmental Society organized a highly informative seminar on 10th November titled โClimate Change: Coping Strategies and Challenges.โ The event aimed to enhance awareness and promote meaningful dialogue on one of the most critical global issues of our time.
A panel discussion was conducted featuring distinguished experts โDr Habib Aslam Gaba, Convener Standing Committee Academia-Industry Linkages, Policy Advocacy and SDGs at The Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and industry; Dr Zill-e-Huma, Pro Vice Chancellor at Government College women University Faisalabad-Official (GCUF); Mr Ahsan Iqbal Bela, Environmental Engineer at Punjab Municipal Development Fund Company (PMDFC); and Mr Muhammad Saleem Ahmad Ranjha, Advisor Spectreco and Advisor InnoVista Ravi โ who shared their valuable insights on the multifaceted impacts of climate change and the practical strategies required to mitigate its effects.
The session was moderated by Dr. Shaista Shafiq, Head Department of Biochemistry & Biotechnology, The University of Faisalabad (TUF), whose thoughtful guidance ensured a dynamic and intellectually enriching exchange among the panelists and participants.
The seminar emphasized the need for sustainable practices, collective responsibility, and proactive policies to address environmental challenges effectively. The event concluded with an interactive question-and-answer session, fostering deeper understanding and encouraging active engagement among attendees.

Dr. Adil Jamal and Miss Sannia from the Department of Biotechnology, The University of Faisalabad, organized an insightful academic tour to the University of Agriculture Faisalabad. ๐งฌ
Students visited CABB and CAS, exploring state-of-the-art research facilities. In CAS labs, they observed ongoing research on insect disease resistance and nutrition & probiotics. Meanwhile, in CABB, students learned about advanced molecular biology techniques including gene editing, gene cloning, gene transformation, and the use of molecular markers. ๐ฌ๐ฑ
