The Office of Research, Innovation and Commercialization (ORIC), TUF, proudly organized the Research Incentive Award Ceremony to honor faculty members for their outstanding publications in high-impact journals.

The ceremony was graced by Prof Dr Aman Ullah Malik, Rector TUF, Dr Zahida Maqbool, Registrar TUF, along with Deans, Directors, and distinguished faculty members. Their remarks highlighted the vital role of research in academic excellence, institutional growth, and global visibility.

Prof Dr Zahir Ahmad Zahir, Director ORIC, emphasized that the incentive scheme reflects the University’s trust in its faculty and promotes innovation, ethical scholarship, and impactful research. The Guest of Honor, Dr Zahida Maqbool, appreciated the faculty’s valuable research contributions and encouraged active participation in future research initiatives. Prof Dr Aman Ullah Malik also commended the faculty and motivated them to continue publishing in high-quality, internationally recognized journals.

🔹 Grant Size: Up to £100,000 (higher budgets may be considered for exceptional data collection costs in low-income countries, with strong justification)
🔹 Project Duration: Up to 24 months
🔹 Application Deadline: 02 February 2026 (23:59 BST)
🔍 Research Focus Areas include:
• Data, measurement, and conceptual framing
• Firms, frictions, spillovers, and industrial policy
• Labour, home production, and household-level structural transformation
• Agricultural productivity and sectoral gaps
• Trade and spatial frictions
• Role of the public sector
📌 Proposals addressing gender, climate change and environment, and inequality and inclusion will receive particular consideration. Research conducted in middle-income countries is also eligible if it informs policy and growth processes in low-income countries, especially sub-Saharan Africa.
👩‍🎓 Eligibility:
• Principal Investigators must hold a PhD or be enrolled in a PhD programme
• Collaborative and interdisciplinary research teams are encouraged
• Strong policy relevance is a key evaluation criterion
