پہلے روز جینڈر، شمولیت، بین المذاہب ہم آہنگی اور جدید معاشرے میں صوفی تعلیمات کی اہمیت پر تفصیلی گفتگو ہوئی۔

On 5th April 2026, the Department of Islamic Studies welcomed national and international guests for the international conference.

A two-day international conference on Tasawwuf will be held on 6–7 April 2026.

The Department of Islamic Studies, in collaboration with the Directorate of Student Affairs (DSA), Ghazi University, observed the International Day for the Prevention of Violent Extremism on 12 February 2026. The purpose of the event was to raise awareness among students and faculty about the dangers of violent extremism and to promote peace, tolerance, interfaith harmony, and constructive dialogue in society.This day highlights the global commitment to preventing all forms of violent extremism and fostering inclusive communities built upon mutual respect and understanding.
The Chairperson of the Department of Islamic Studies Prof. Dr. Arshad Munir delivered the keynote address by elaborating the true teachings of Islam as a religion of peace, compassion, and justice, the concept of moderation (Wasatiyyah) in Islamic thought, the misinterpretation of religious texts by extremist groups. He stressed that Islam strictly prohibits violence against innocent people and promotes coexistence and social harmony. The Director of Student Affairs Dr. Salman Haidar welcomed the participants and emphasized the responsibility of universities in shaping balanced and informed citizens. Prof. Dr. Saddullah Leghari, Dean, faculty of sciences highlighted the importance of dialogue, empathy, and civic engagement in preventing extremist ideologies. The interactive session allowed participants to share views and ask questions regarding contemporary challenges related to extremism
