THE LANGLANDS SCHOOL AND COLLEGE CHITRAL The Langlands School and College, Chitral, named after famous educationist G D Langlands was founded in 1988, formerly known as Sayurj Public School.

Its earliest name of the school was "Sayurj Public School and College Chitral" which was later changed to " The Langland's school and college chitral" to honour its principal Mr. Geoffrey Douglas Langlands (Famous Educationist from England who dedicated his life to education of Pakistani Youth after retirement from British Army as Major). The school provides equal opportunities to both male and fe

male students and situated in Chitral City. It has a strength of around thousand students and about a third of that are female students. The students range in age from 4 to 18 years of age. In 2012 Mr. G D Langlands got retirement due to his age and deteriorating health conditions. The current principal of the school is Ms. Carey Schofield, another British writer and war journalist. Motto of the institute, that Mr. Langlands used frequently, is:
“ THERE IS ALWAYS ROOM FOR IMPROVEMENT ”

Deeply Saddened to hear that our principal Mr G D Langlands is no more with us. His services in the education of Pakistan and especially Chitral will never be forgotten. He was born 21 October 1917, in Hull, England and died today 2 January 2019 in a Hospital in Lahore. His teaching career began with the independence of Pakistan. He served 5 years as an instructor of Pakistan Army, 25 Years in Aitchison College, 10 Years as principal of Cadet College Razmak and finally stationed in Chitral as Principal Sayurj Public School which was later named after him in recognition of his services to the Country and especially people of Chitral.

The Langlands School & College Chitral will remain a symbol of his love and sincerity for people of Pakistan.

May his soul rest in peace.
