لاہور، 18 اگست 2026ء: یونیورسٹی آف چکوال کی سنڈیکیٹ کا اہم اجلاس پنجاب ہائر ایجوکیشن عارفہ کریم ٹاور لاہور میں منعقد ہوا۔ اجلاس کی صدارت صوبائی وزیر برائے ہائر ایجوکیشن پنجاب جناب رانا سکندر حیات نے کی۔ اجلاس میں یونیورسٹی آف چکوال کے وائس چانسلر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر فرخ ارسلان صدیقی سمیت حکومت پنجاب، ہائر ایجوکیشن کمیشن، پنجاب ہائر ایجوکیشن کمیشن، محکمہ خزانہ، محکمہ قانون و پارلیمانی امور، اراکین پنجاب اسمبلی، ماہرین تعلیم، صنعت و تجارت اور سول سوسائٹی کے نمائندگان نے شرکت کی۔
اجلاس میں ایڈیشنل سیکرٹری ہائر ایجوکیشن ڈیپارٹمنٹ حکومت پنجاب محترمہ زاہدہ اظہر، محکمہ خزانہ کے نمائندہ سید علی اصغر، محکمہ قانون و پارلیمانی امور کے نمائندہ جناب شاہد امتیاز، یونیورسٹی آف چکوال کے رجسٹرار ڈاکٹر محمد رئیس اشرف، چیئرمین ہائر ایجوکیشن کمیشن اسلام آباد کے نمائندہ جناب محمد رفیق طاہر، یونیورسٹی آف چکوال کے خزانہ دار جناب محمد آصف، چیئرمین پنجاب ہائر ایجوکیشن کمیشن لاہور کے نمائندہ ڈاکٹر آصف منیر، جناب سلطان حیدر علی خان (ایم پی اے حلقہ PP-20 چکوال)، محترمہ مہوش سلطانہ (ایم پی اے حلقہ W-309 چوآ سیدن شاہ)، سابق وفاقی سیکرٹری جناب مظہر علی خان، یو-ای-ٹی ٹیکسلا سے پروفیسر ڈاکٹر امیر سلطان، چیئرپرسن ہینڈی کرافٹ ایسوسی ایشن آف پاکستان محترمہ مریم قاسم خان اور محترمہ ثمینہ نذیر، ایگزیکٹو ڈائریکٹر پوٹھوہار آرگنائزیشن فار ڈویلپمنٹ ایڈووکیسی نے شرکت کی۔
سنڈیکیٹ اجلاس کے آغاز میں گزشتہ 13ویں اجلاس کی کارروائی کی توثیق اور سابقہ فیصلوں پر عمل درآمد کی پیش رفت کا جائزہ لیا گیا۔ اس اہم اجلاس میں وائس چانسلر کی جانب سے تفویض کردہ اختیارات کے تحت کیے گئے اقدامات کی بھی منظوری اور توثیق بھی کی گئی۔ مزید برآں اکیڈمک کونسل، فنانس اینڈ پلاننگ کمیٹی اور سلیکشن بورڈ کی سفارشات پر تفصیلی غور کیا گیا اور یونیورسٹی کے تعلیمی، مالی اور انتظامی امور سے متعلق اہم فیصلے کیے گئے۔
سنڈیکیٹ نے برائے مالی سال 27-2026 کیلئے یونیورسٹی کے 85 کروڑ 56 لاکھ روپے کے بجٹ کی منظوری دی۔ اجلاس کو بتایا گیا کہ مؤثر مالی منصوبہ بندی، اخراجات میں نظم و ضبط اور بہتر مالی انتظام کے نتیجے میں یونیورسٹی نے 45 ملین روپے کا سرپلس حاصل کیا جسے وزیر تعلیم رانا سکندر حیات اور دیگر ممبران نے یونیورسٹی کی مالی و انتظامی صورتحال کے لحاظ سے ایک نہایت خوش آئند پیش رفت قرار دیا گیا۔ اجلاس میں یونیورسٹی میں مختلف تدریسی اور غیر تدریسی آسامیوں پر بھرتیوں سے متعلق معاملات، زیر التوا بھرتیوں کے حوالے سے رہنمائی، سرچ کمیٹیوں کی ازسرنو تشکیل، سکرونٹی کمیٹیوں اور ریکروٹمنٹ کمپلینٹ ریڈریسل سیل کے قیام سمیت متعدد اہم امور پر غور کیا گیا۔ مزید برآں، یونیورسٹی آف چکوال کے سنڈیکیٹ کے کاروباری قواعد، چیئرپرسن، ڈائریکٹر اور پرنسپل کی تقرری سے متعلق مجوزہ قوانین، اساتذہ اور ملازمین کی ڈیپوٹیشن، بیرون مُلک غیر معمولی رخصت، پارٹ ٹائم میڈیکل آفیسر اور وزٹنگ/پارٹ ٹائم لیبارٹری انجینئرز کی تقرری، یونیورسٹی کے ایونٹ ہالز کے استعمال اور دیگر انتظامی معاملات سے متعلق تجاویز اور سفارشات پر بھی غور کیا گیا۔ اجلاس کے دوران عدالتی احکامات کی روشنی میں بعض انفرادی اور انتظامی معاملات کا بھی جائزہ لیا گیا۔ سنڈیکیٹ اجلاس میں عدالتی احکامات پر اکنامکس ڈیپارٹمنٹ کی اسسٹنٹ پروفیسر ڈاکٹر مُنیبہ ثناء کی اپیل بھی سنی گئی جس پر بعد ازاں فیصلہ محفوظ کر لیا گیا۔
شرکاء نے اس امر پر اطمینان کا اظہار کیا کہ وائس چانسلر اور یونیورسٹی انتظامیہ ادارہ جاتی استحکام، مالی نظم و ضبط، شفافیت اور تعلیمی معیار کی بہتری کے لیے مؤثر اقدامات کر رہی ہے۔ اجلاس میں کیے گئے فیصلوں کو یونیورسٹی آف چکوال کی ترقی، تعلیمی و تحقیقی سرگرمیوں کے فروغ، انتظامی بہتری اور مالی استحکام کی جانب ایک اہم پیش رفت قرار دیا گیا۔

Important Meeting of the Syndicate of the University of Chakwal Held; Approval of Budget and Various Administrative and Academic Matters.

Lahore, 18 August 2026: An important meeting of the Syndicate of the University of Chakwal was held at the Punjab Higher Education Arifa Karim Tower, Lahore. The meeting was chaired by the Provincial Minister for Higher Education Punjab, Mr. Rana Sikandar Hayat. It was attended by the Vice Chancellor of the University of Chakwal, Professor Dr. Farrukh Arsalan Siddiqui, along with representatives of the Government of Punjab, Higher Education Commission, Punjab Higher Education Commission, Finance Department, Law and Parliamentary Affairs Department, members of the Punjab Assembly, education experts, industry and trade, and civil society.

Participants included Additional Secretary, Higher Education Department, Government of Punjab, Ms. Zahida Azhar; representative of the Finance Department, Syed Ali Asghar; representative of the Law and Parliamentary Affairs Department, Mr. Shahid Imtiaz; Registrar of the University of Chakwal, Dr. Muhammad Raees Ashraf; representative of the Chairman, Higher Education Commission Islamabad, Mr. Muhammad Rafiq Tahir; Treasurer of the University of Chakwal, Mr. Muhammad Asif; representative of the Chairman, Punjab Higher Education Commission Lahore, Dr. Asif Munir; Mr. Sultan Haider Ali Khan (MPA, Constituency PP-20 Chakwal); Ms. Mahvish Sultana (MPA, Constituency W-309 Choa Saidan Shah); former Federal Secretary Mr. Mazhar Ali Khan; Professor Dr. Amir Sultan from UET Taxila; Chairperson of the Handicraft Association of Pakistan, Ms. Maryam Qasim Khan; and Ms. Samina Nazir, Executive Director of the Pothohar Organization for Development Advocacy.

At the start of the Syndicate meeting, the proceedings of the previous 13th meeting were confirmed and the progress on the implementation of earlier decisions was reviewed. In this important meeting, the actions taken under the powers delegated by the Vice Chancellor were also approved and ratified. In addition, detailed consideration was given to the recommendations of the Academic Council, Finance and Planning Committee, and Selection Board, and important decisions were taken regarding the university’s academic, financial, and administrative affairs.

The Syndicate approved the university’s budget of Rs. 85 crore 56 lakh for the financial year 2026-27. The meeting was informed that as a result of effective financial planning, discipline in expenditures, and better financial management, the university achieved a surplus of Rs. 45 million. Minister for Education Rana Sikandar Hayat and other members termed this a highly welcome development in view of the university’s financial and administrative situation. The meeting also discussed matters related to appointments against various teaching and non-teaching positions in the university, guidance on pending recruitments, reconstitution of search committees, establishment of scrutiny committees and a Recruitment Complaint Redressal Cell, among other important issues. Furthermore, proposals and recommendations concerning the business rules of the Syndicate of the University of Chakwal, proposed regulations regarding the appointment of Chairperson, Director and Principal, deputation of teachers and employees, extraordinary leave abroad, appointment of part-time Medical Officer and visiting/part-time Laboratory Engineers, use of the university’s event halls, and other administrative matters were also considered. During the meeting, certain individual and administrative matters were also reviewed in the light of court orders. The Syndicate also heard the appeal of Assistant Professor Dr. Muniba Sana of the Economics Department in light of court orders, on which the decision was later reserved.

The participants expressed satisfaction that the Vice Chancellor and the university administration are taking effective measures for institutional stability, financial discipline, transparency, and improvement of academic standards. The decisions taken in the meeting were described as an important step towards the development of the University of Chakwal, promotion of academic and research activities, administrative improvement, and financial stability.

پاکستان کے 80ویں یومِ آزادی (79ویں سالگرہ) کی مناسبت سے یونیورسٹی آف چکوال میں قومی پرچم کشائی اور سیمینار کا انعقاد

چکوال، 14 اگست 2026ء: پاکستان کے 80ویں یومِ آزادی (79ویں سالگرہ) کی مناسبت سے یونیورسٹی آف چکوال میں پرچم کشائی کی تقریب اور سیمینار کا انعقاد کیا گیا۔

تقریب کا آغاز معزز وائس چانسلر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر فرخ ارسلان صدیقی کے ہاتھوں قومی پرچم لہرانے سے ہوا۔ اس موقع پر پاکستان کی ترقی، خوشحالی، امن اور استحکام کے لیے خصوصی دعا بھی کی گئی۔

اس کے بعد سیمینار ہال میں ایک خصوصی سیمینار منعقد ہوا جس میں یونیورسٹی کے طلباء اور فیکلٹی ممبران نے بھرپور جوش و خروش کے ساتھ شرکت کی۔ معزز وائس چانسلر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر فرخ ارسلان صدیقی نے شرکاء سے خطاب کرتے ہوئے کہا کہ:

"آج کا دن ہمیں یاد دلاتا ہے کہ آزادی صرف ایک تاریخی واقعہ نہیں بلکہ ایک مقدس امانت ہے جس کی حفاظت اور ترقی ہم سب کی مشترکہ ذمہ داری ہے۔ یونیورسٹی آف چکوال کا مشن یہ ہے کہ ہم اپنے نوجوانوں کو علم، کردار اور حب الوطنی کی ایسی تربیت دیں کہ وہ پاکستان کو ایک مضبوط، ترقی یافتہ اور خود انحصار قوم بنانے میں اپنا کردار ادا کر سکیں۔ آئیے ہم سب مل کر اس عزم کو تازہ کریں کہ ہم اپنے ملک کی خدمت کے لیے اپنی تمام صلاحیتیں وقف کریں گے۔"

تقریب کے اختتام پر معزز وائس چانسلر نے فیکلٹی ممبران، طلباء اور بچوں کے ہمراہ کیک کاٹا اور یومِ آزادی کی مبارکباد پیش کی۔

تقریب میں یونیورسٹی کے تمام شعبہ جات کے اساتذہ، عملہ، طلباء اور بچوں نے بھرپور شرکت کی اور قومی ترانے کے ساتھ تقریب کا اختتام ہوا۔

Vice Chancellor, University of Chakwal, Meets Chairman HEC to Discuss Academic and Research Initiatives

Islamabad: Prof. Dr. Farrukh Arsalan Siddiqui, Vice Chancellor, University of Chakwal, called on Prof. Dr. Niaz Ahmad Akhtar, Chairman, Higher Education Commission (HEC) in his office at HEC, to discuss a range of issues related to the University's academic growth and institutional development.

During the meeting, the Vice Chancellor highlighted the pending No Objection Certificates (NOCs) required for the launch of postgraduate MPhil and PhD programs in various disciplines. He emphasized the importance of these programs in expanding higher education and research opportunities for students in the region. The discussion also focused on ongoing development projects, research initiatives, faculty training, and professional development programs at the University. The Vice Chancellor briefed the Chairman on the University's efforts to strengthen its academic and research environment. Prof. Siddiqui also invited the Chairman, HEC, to visit the University of Chakwal and observe its ongoing progress and future development plans.

The Chairman appreciated the University's initiatives and reaffirmed the Higher Education Commission's continued cooperation and support for the promotion of higher education and research at the University.

Today, on National Minorities Day, the University of Chakwal proudly stood by the vision of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah — equal rights, dignity, and freedom for every citizen, regardless of faith.

PHEC Monitoring & Evaluation Team Visits the Department of Human Nutrition and Dietetics, University of Chakwal

The Department of Human Nutrition and Dietetics, University of Chakwal, had the privilege of welcoming the Punjab Higher Education Commission (PHEC) Monitoring & Evaluation Team for the verification and evaluation of Agriculture and Allied Programmes.

The visit commenced with a welcome address by the Worthy Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Farrukh Arsalan Siddiqui, who highlighted the University's vision, academic achievements, ongoing developments, and future growth initiatives. The evaluation team conducted a comprehensive review of the department's academic programmes, laboratory facilities, research activities, governance, and overall learning environment.

The visit also included a productive meeting with the university administration, focusing on quality assurance, transparency, institutional performance, and continuous improvement in higher education to assess the University's academic standards, governance, and development initiatives.

The Department of Human Nutrition and Dietetics extends its sincere appreciation to the Punjab Higher Education Commission for their valuable feedback, insightful recommendations, and continued support. The 6th Selection Board of the University of Chakwal was held under the chairmanship of the Worthy Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Farrukh Arsalan Siddique, for consideration of the promotion cases of two TTS faculty members of the University.

The Board comprised Ms. Zahida Azhar, Additional Secretary (Universities), Higher Education Department; Prof. Dr. Adeel Akram, Vice Chancellor, Punjab Tianjin University of Technology, Lahore; Mr. Mazhar Ali, Member Syndicate and Former Federal Secretary; Prof. Dr. Azra Yasmin, Dean of Biotechnology, Fatima Jinnah Women University; Prof. Dr. Hussain Ahmed Janjua from ASAB-NUST, Islamabad; and Mr. Sada Hussain, Principal, College of Arts & Sciences, University of Chakwal.

Dr. Muhammad Raees Ashraf efficiently discharged the duties of Secretary of the Selection Board.

The recommendations of the Selection Board have been referred to the Syndicate of the University of Chakwal for final approval.
