The second meeting of the Board of Studies of the Department of English was held on July 05,2024.Scheme of Studies for BS English was approved.Thanks to the external members and the faculty for making it happen!

As a part of interaction between students and prominent professionals in different fields,the second event was organized in the Department of English at University of Chakwal.Prominent lawyer,TV analyst,social activist and columnist, Mr Ateeq ur Rasool was the Guest Speaker.In his talk, titled 'Awareness of Fundamental Rights', Mr Rasool apprised the students of the significance of human rights awareness and informed them to approach the relevant forums in case their rights are abused.A detailed procedure to get an FIR registered against the perpetrator was discussed.He urged on the students to denounce the menace of extremism and violence.The students came up with highly relevant and well crafted questions to make this interaction more fruitful and productive.The Head of English Department, Prof Sajjad Hussain, welcomed Mr Rasool to his alma mater and thanked him for his illuminating talk.

Congratulations 🎉 to Sania Zubair , Muqadas Qasim and Robilta Marry( English Semester 8, Morning) for completing a Digital Marketing Course under the supervision of Akhuwat College Chakwal and making their department , university and families proud. It was a four months training session and at the end of the session, certificates and laptops were given to the successful aspirants during the closing ceremony held at Akhuwat college Kasur, Lahore.

One Day Seminar on 'Journalism as a Profession' was held in the Department of English.Renowned national journalist,blogger and content writer,Mr Nabeel Anwar Dhakku was the Guest Speaker.He shared his success story, experiences and thoughts on the sacred profession of journalism.He urged on the students to join this noble vocation,as a true journalist could act as a catalyst for social change.He further added that a journalist has to be committed to the cause and must uphold the tenets of integrity and sincerity.The students showed great interest in the talk and asked questions to clear their ambiguities of mind on the topic .By the end ,the Head of the English Department thanked Mr Nabeel Anwar for addressing the students.He said that Nabeel was the pride of Chakwal for his professionalism and contributions to the indigenous political,social,cultural and historical landscape.
