𝗥𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗖𝗹𝗼𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝘂𝗴𝗴𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗔𝗰𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗰 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝘂𝗶𝘁𝘆
We sincerely appreciate the efforts of the Government of Punjab for improving the education sector through reforms in curriculum, examinations, and school conditions. These initiatives reflect a strong commitment to promoting quality education and building a progressive Pakistan.
However, we respectfully request reconsideration of the closure of schools, colleges, and universities during every crucial or emergency situation. While safety is important, repeated closures disrupt academic continuity and create significant learning gaps, particularly for school students who rely on structured classroom environments for effective learning and development.
𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗖𝗹𝗼𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗢𝗻𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗖𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘀
𝟭) School students are generally not mature enough to adapt effectively to online learning in the same way as university students.
𝟮) Their attention span and self-discipline are often not at the required level to follow online instructions in true letter and spirit.
𝟯) Completion of syllabus and preparation for examinations require proper physical classes, especially for students in the early stages of learning.
𝟰) Many areas lack smooth internet services, resulting in frequent connectivity issues that disrupt learning.
𝟱) Electricity breakdowns further aggravate the problem and interrupt continuity of classes.
𝟲) Watching screens for 5 to 6 hours daily has negative consequences on students’ physical and mental health.
𝟳) Many families do not have sufficient gadgets to support online classes, particularly those with more than one school-going child.
𝟴) These factors collectively create learning gaps and place many students at a disadvantage.
Considering these challenges, exclusive reliance on online education is not a sustainable solution for school students. A balanced approach is required to ensure continuity of learning while maintaining safety.
𝗦𝘂𝗴𝗴𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗔𝗰𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗰 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝘂𝗶𝘁𝘆
Keeping these challenges in view, we respectfully request the Punjab Government to consider reopening schools and adopting practical solutions to ensure continuity in students’ education:
𝟭 𝗛𝘆𝗯𝗿𝗶𝗱 𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝗼𝗱𝗲𝗹: During emergency situations, a hybrid system may be introduced, such as four days of physical classes and two days of online classes, or a three-days physical and three-days online alternate arrangement.
𝟮 𝗔𝗹𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗲-𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗽𝗵𝘆𝘀𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗰𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘀: Physical classes may be arranged on four alternate days, while the remaining days may be designated as preparation or off days.
𝟯 𝗥𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗲𝗱-𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗽𝗵𝘆𝘀𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴: Schools may operate with shorter school timings to balance safety with academic continuity.
𝟰 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗴𝗴𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲: Different classes may attend on different days to reduce crowding while continuing physical learning.
We stand with every positive step taken for national welfare and fully support measures for safety and resource conservation. However, we humbly request the immediate reopening of schools so that the academic session may continue smoothly and students do not suffer academically.
