CSS EXAM PREPARATION AT COLLAGE/ UNIVERSITY STAGE!

If you decide to make civil services a career at your College or University stage, try to follow these things:

1. Improve your English Grammar and English Writing Skills.
2. Develop Reading habit.
3. Prepare one Compulsory Subject And one Optional.
4: Read JWT Magazine.
5. Listening to evening/ night news bulletins/analysis is a must. They provide invaluable background information and a balanced opinion on major issues. Evening news bulletins give an overview of the prominent news stories of the day.
6.Discussions on current affairs on standard TV channel should be followed by a student to learn "how the arguments take place and how arguments are built up".
7.Discuss things/news items with your friends and family members that will give confidence of taking a stand against any issue.
8.Once you enter 3rd or 4th year of your preparation, you can go through the past papers of CSS Exam. Students in the first year also can go through these papers, but it would be difficult for a person to understand all the questions because he/she might have not studied the entire syllabi.
9. In the first step itself, if you take the question paper and if you don't know most of the questions, it will deject you. There is nothing to get dejected at this stage.
10. If you complete your one or two Compulsory subject(s) at the college/University level, it will be easy for you to crack the CSS Exam in the first attempt itself.

✓The motive behind the "Theory of Separation of Powers" is to avoid any sort of autocratic setup. The same is backed by a system of "Checks and Balances" in order to make a strong coordination, interdependence and coexistence among organs of the government.
✓The power of Suo Motu, given to the superior judiciary in Pakistan, has left much to the Chief Justice of Pakistan. This MUCH is evident from various decisions of the court from time to time. Many of such decisions have contributed much to the ongoing politico-economic crisis.
✓ The more the institutions become politicized and polarized, the more the State declines. Decisions become partial and serve the interests of one or the other party and justice compromises. It leads to the conflict of organs of the government. In case of Pakistan, the role of establishment, politicians, illiterate population and other major stakeholders can't be ignored in this regard.
✓ All the questions about the state of democracy and other relevancies aside, the representatives of the people mustn't leave the floor of the house. Parliamentary decisions are, to some extent if not a greater one, popular decisions. Limiting the role of CJP by the parliament of Pakistan is a welcoming step. Inherently, it may serve the interests of the parties in government but the role of CJP was unlimited and to limit it by constitutional means was the need of the hour.

The department of Political Science, Government Degree College No. 2 Bannu organized a seminar on the topic, "The Role of Local Government in Strengthening Democracy in Pakistan". The students of the department overwhelminghly particiapate and take keen interest in the subject as the subject is one of the emergings field of Political Science.
In the Seminar, the students and faculty members also celebrated 25th Birthday of Prof. Zohaib Ullah khan with zeal and fervency in a magnificent way.
Such events are very necessary to groom the students. The young and energetic teachers, who are graduated from Government College University Lahore and University of Peshawar have brought a very positive energy and progressive thinking. They are striving to provide the environment of the well-reputed institutions at door step and inculcate innovative ideas in the young minds in order to prepare them for future endeavours. The Honorable Principal Prof. Umer Nawaz khan and Chairman Department of Political Science Prof. Faqir khan are highly appreciated for their continuous support in this regard. The Department is committed to left no stone unturned for grooming of the students in all respects.

The department of Political Science, GDC No.2 is one of the rich, celebrated, industrious and dedicated department. The department of Political science is devoted to the study of politics in its theoretical and operational aspects.
The courses of B.A(Hons) are designed to provide understanding of the major theories of Political Science and International Relations, nature and dynamics of the political processes, Political systems, Western and Muslim Philosphy, Public Administration, and ForeignPolicy dynamics to sharpen the analytical skills of students and enable them to understand the dynamics of polity and its environment. The courses also help the students to better prepare for Competitive Exams (CSS/PMS) and Lecturership exam.
The Faculty members are well qualified, young, energetic and are graduates of GCU Lahore and Peshawar university. They tries their level best to inculcate new innovative ideas, motivate the students about future and provide them the environment of GCU Lahore and Peshawar university at doorstep.
