حضرت ابو ہریرہ رضی الله تعالیٰ عنه سے روایت ہے کہ میں نے نبی کریم ﷺ کو ثوبان رضی الله تعالیٰ عنه سے یہ فرماتے ہوئے سنا ہے کہ ثوبان! اس وقت تمہاری کیا کیفیت ہوگی جب تمہارے خلاف دنیا کی قومیں ایک دوسرے کو ایسے دعوت دیں گی جیسے کھانے کی میز پر دعوت دی جاتی ہے؟
حضرت ثوبان رضی الله تعالیٰ عنه نے عرض کیا یا رسول اللهﷺ! میرے ماں باپ آپ پر قربان ہوں کیا اس وقت ہماری تعداد کم ہونے کی بنا پر ایسا ہوگا؟
فرمایا نہیں بلکہ اس وقت تمہاری تعداد بہت زیادہ ہوگی لیکن تمہارے دلوں میں وہن " ڈال دیا جائے گا صحابہ کرام نے پوچھا یا رسول الله ﷺ وہن کیا چیز ہے؟ فرمایا دنیا سے محبت اور جہاد سے نفرت.
