Most people desire the glory without the grind,
the triumph without the trials
and the mastery without the milestones.
They want to be the 'Dedawar', the virtuoso of their craft, without the years of perseverance, the sleepless nights and the unwavering dedication.
But as someone studying Zoology, I'm learning that true excellence is a rare gem that requires unrelenting effort, unbridled passion and unshakeable resilience.
It's the 'Divine Design' that unfolds only after a journey of self discovery, of pushing beyond limits and of rising above fears.
It's the culmination of countless hours of striving, of believing and of overcoming.
Are you ready to embark on the journey to uncover your masterpiece, to unleash your potential, to conquer your doubts and to unlock your 'Divine Design'? 🧬

I wish I could go back and tell her to just breathe. 🌙✨
Younger Savera spent so much time stressed about the "perfect" study life that she forgot to enjoy the process of learning. I thought that if my notes weren't aesthetic, I was failing. I thought if I wasn't studying 12 hours straight, I was falling behind. 📉😅
But I was chasing a ghost. 👻
What I know now is that knowledge isn’t just about memorizing animal classifications for a zoology exam; it’s about understanding the design of the Creator. When you shift your intention from "passing" to "understanding," the stress starts to fade away. 🦋🌿
Every hour you spend struggling over a syllabus is written as "striving" in your book of deeds. You are more than a grade on a transcript. You are a student of life, and Allah rewards the sincerity of your effort, not just the result. 📝💎
I’m curious; what is one thing you’d tell your younger self if you could go back to your first day of university? Let’s talk in the comments! 🕊️💬

Every year, my exams somehow land in Ramadan.
Fasting for long hours while preparing for papers isn’t always easy, especially for students in Pakistan, where exam season often comes right after Eid.
Over time, I had to learn how to balance both, protecting my energy, staying consistent and keeping space for reflection during these nights.
I shared the small routine that helped me in the slides. Save this post 🌙.
You might want to come back to it when exam season arrives.

Let me share a small tadabbur from my study today. 🌿
I was revising the definition of zoology, something we’ve all probably memorized at some point:
The scientific study of animals… their structure, behavior, origins, and distribution.
Very normal. Very textbook. 📚
But while thinking about it, an āyah from Surah Al-'Ankabut kept coming to mind:
“Travel through the land and observe how He began the creation…” (29:20)
And I paused for a moment.
Because when you really think about it… isn’t that exactly what zoology asks us to do? 🤔
To go out into ecosystems.
To observe animals in their habitats.
To notice patterns in how they live, move, adapt and exist in this world.
It made me look at that simple definition a little differently.
Almost like the Qur’an is inviting us to approach the natural world with curiosity and observation, the same mindset science is built on.
Maybe it’s a small reflection, but it genuinely made my zoology notes feel a little deeper today.
So I thought I’d share that thought here too, in case it makes someone else pause and see the study of nature a bit differently. ✨🌍

I didn’t expect an Arachnology lecture to become a life lesson 🕷️
Studying spider web structure; silk strength, ecological function, behavioral biology and then reflecting on Surah Al-‘Ankabut 29:41 changed how I see both Zoology and myself.
As students, we’re trained to measure success in grades, GPA, rankings, academic validation 📊
But the Qur’anic metaphor of the spider’s web reminds us:
something can look intricate, engineered, even strong…
yet still be the weakest foundation.
Modern zoological research shows spider silk is incredibly strong, yet the web as a “home” is fragile, exposed, temporary.
That reflection shifted my mindset as a Zoology student 🎓
I still believe in academic excellence.
I still believe in research, fieldwork, scientific rigor 🔬
But now I also believe:
Zoology is not just a degree.
It is the study of Allah’s creation 🌿
It is ecological balance, animal behavior, biodiversity conservation.
It is an amanah.
Islam encourages beneficial knowledge, knowledge that transforms character, deepens understanding (fiqh) and strengthens tawakkul 🤍
Not just information for exams.
So if you’re a student of Zoology, Wildlife Sciences, Environmental Biology, or any science; maybe ask yourself:
Are you studying only for marks?
Or for meaning?
Because when intention changes, even a spiderweb becomes a reminder of tawheed.

We study taxonomy 🧬.
We memorize phyla 📚.
We define morphology, physiology, ecology 🌱🐾.
But do we observe 👀?
Allah says in the Qur'an:
إِنَّ فِي خَلْقِ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَاخْتِلَافِ اللَّيْلِ وَالنَّهَارِ لَآيَاتٍ لِّأُولِي الْأَلْبَابِ
“Indeed, in the creation of the heavens and the earth… are signs for people of understanding.” (3:190)
And about animals specifically:
وَمَا مِن دَابَّةٍ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَلَا طَائِرٍ يَطِيرُ بِجَنَاحَيْهِ إِلَّا أُمَمٌ أَمْثَالُكُم ۚ
“There is no creature on earth nor bird that flies with its wings except that they are communities like you.” (6:38)
Communities 🌿.
In Zoology, we call them species, populations, trophic levels, ecological networks 🐾📊.
In Islam, they are signs ✨.
Part of Allah’s khalq🌍.
A trust within our role as stewards 🕊️.
Somewhere between lab reports and past papers 📝,
we stopped practicing tafakkur 🧘.
We analyze behavior but don’t reflect on purpose 🤔.
We study adaptation but don’t see wisdom 🌱.
We read about ecosystems but forget Amanah 🐝.
Maybe Zoology was never meant to be just an academic discipline 🎓.
Maybe it’s a lens to witness the precision of Allah’s design,
in migration patterns, in parasitic balance 🦠, in symbiosis, in instinct.
I’m still learning to slow down and observe 🌿.
If you’re a Zoology student trying to reconnect your ilm with meaning… you’re not alone 🤍

🛑 Stop relying on just your degree. It’s time to UPGRADE. 🧬💻
I used to be confused about my BS Zoology degree.
I looked at the market and saw the same scary reality:
❌ Saturated teaching jobs (PPSC/FPSC).
❌ Low salaries in the private sector.
❌ Outdated syllabus focusing only on theory, not application.
I thought, "Is this it? Is teaching my only path?"
Then I realized: The world has changed, but our syllabus hasn’t.
Global biology isn't just about dissection anymore.
It is about Data, Conservation Tech, and Genomics. The highest-paid Zoologists today aren't just memorizing phyla; they are analyzing data.
So, I made a decision.
I am no longer just a "Zoology Student."
I am building a Future Ready Career.
I created Zoology Upgraded to document my journey of bridging the gap between Biological Sciences and Technology.
Here is my roadmap:
🔹 Python & R: For biological data analysis.
🔹 GIS (Geographic Information Systems): For wildlife tracking and habitat mapping.
🔹 AI Tools: For smarter research and automated literature reviews.
I am not an expert yet. I am a student, just like you. But I refuse to stay stagnant.
If you want to be more than just a graduate with a degree, you’re in the right place.
Let’s escape the saturation trap together. 🚀
