The Department of Media Studies was established in 1985 by offering one year Post-Graduate Diploma in Journalism. Since then, more than 1500 students have graduated and most of them are working in different Media Organizations, Public Relation Departments, Academic Institutions and NGOs. More than ten students have earned their MPhil degrees. The Department also offers a PhD Program. Six scholars

پریس ا نفارمیشن ڈیپارٹمنٹ کے میڈیاسیل برائے انسدار پرتشدد ، انتہا پسندی سی ای وی کے زیراہتمام سوشل میڈیا پر فیک نیوز ، عدم برداشت اور انتہا پسند مواد کے اثرات کے حوالے سے بہاولپور اجوا گاڈرن میں گول میز کانفرنس کا انعقاد کیا گیا ۔ کانفرنس کی صدارت ڈی جی پی آئی ڈی طاہرہ سعیدہ اور پروجیکٹ ڈائیرکٹر شاہد عمران رانچھا نے کی۔ جس میں اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور کے شعبہ ابلاغیات کے سینئر پروفیسز اور طلبہ کی بڑی تعداد نے شرکت کی۔اور آئی یو بی کے سینئر فیکلٹی ممبر ڈاکٹر حنان خان ترین نےکانفرنس میں طلبہ سے خطاب کرتے ہوئے کہا کہ جعلی خبریں عوامی رائے کو گمراہ کرنے کا باعث بنتی ہیں اور معاشرتی عدم استحکام کو فروغ دیتی ہیں۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ موجودہ ڈیجیٹل دور میں خبر کی تصدیق طلبہ کے علاوہ بھی ہر شہری کی ذمہ داری ہے۔ کانفرنس میں ڈاکٹر معظم خان درانی فیکلٹی ممبر اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور نے جعلی خبروں کے پھیلاؤ اور سوشل میڈیا کے غلط استعمال پر تفصیلی گفتگو کی۔اور اس موقع پر ڈاکٹر عابدہ نورین ، اویس گیلانی اوررضا ماجد نے نوجوانوں میں میڈیا لٹریسی کے فروغ پر زور دیا۔ شرکاء نے اس بات پر اتفاق کیا کہ جعلی خبروں کے تدارک کے لیے صحافیوں، تعلیمی اداروں اور سوشل میڈیا صارفین کو مشترکہ کردار ادا کرنا ہوگا۔ ڈی جی طاہرہ سعیدہ اور پروجیکٹ ڈائیریکٹر شاہد عمران رانجھانے طلبہ کے سوالات کے جوابات دیے۔ کانفرنس کے اختتام پر ڈی جی طاہر سعیدہ اور ڈائیریکٹر شاہد عمران رانجھا نے معزز اسپیکرز میں شیلڈ تقسم کیں۔

The Islamia University of Bahawalpur.

The project was assigned by Dr. Hannan Khan Tareen and focuses on developing students’ on-screen presentation, timing, and professional communication skills through practical media training.

Mr. Parshant Singh from the University of the Punjab visited the Department of Media and Communication Studies,IUB During his visit, he toured the department’s studios and held fruitful interactions with the faculty members. He also delivered an exclusive lecture to our students.

We were also honoured to have Prof.Dr Muhammad Shahzad Rana, Former Chairman DMCS and profound alumnus Abdul Qadir Waghi, join the session.

The visit was graciously hosted by Dr. Malik Adnan, Chairman of the Department of Media and Communication Studies,IUB who invited these distinguished personalities to the department.

Mr. Parshant Singh possesses deep insight into topics such as interfaith harmony and is an expert in the media field, particularly as a digital creator. His presence and contributions made the session highly valuable for our students.
