Step Toward Consent — By Qandeel Akhtar

Consent is not a formality—it is a fundamental right. In matters of marriage, tradition, culture, religion, and law must never become excuses to silence a person’s choice.

This article explores the importance of consent in Islam and Pakistani law, the realities surrounding forced marriage, and the need for awareness and education to protect individual dignity and fundamental rights.

A step toward awareness is a step toward justice, dignity, and safety.
