HAJJ DAY -2 2026

9th Dhul Hijjah - Yawm Arafah

The 9th Dhul Hijjah is known as the Day of Arafah, the pilgrims at Hajj gather at Arafah in worship, which is one of the three central integrals of the Hajj rituals. Its importance is such that the Prophet peace be upon him said: “Hajj is Arafah.” [Sahīh Muslim]

After Fajr prayers in Minā, pilgrims start their journey to the desert planes of Arafah. Classed as the “most important day of Hajj,” Muslims spend the day of Arafah in the vicinity of the mountain, praying and repenting until sunset.

It was from this site that the Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him, delivered his famous Farewell Sermon in 10AH.

During the entire day, from dawn until sunset, Muslim pilgrims stand in earnest supplication and devotion, praying for Allah's abundant forgiveness. Tears are shed readily as those who gather make repentance and seek Allah's mercy, reciting words of prayer and remembrance, and gathering together as equals before their Lord. Muslims around the world who are not participating in the pilgrimage often spend this day in fasting and devotion.

When the sun sets on the Day of Arafah and it's rays completely disappear, the pilgrims proceed towards Muzdalifah, for the Prophet peace be upon him left Arafah after sunset when the sun's rays had completely disappeared; he was riding his camel, travelling on it steadily and hastening whenever he would find space. Profusely chanting Talbiyah - as Muzdalifah is amongst the most emphasised of places where it is to be chanted.

The pilgrims will spend the night in Muzdalifah, in worship, repentance, du'ā, combining Maghrib and Isha prayers together and collecting stones (for stoning the three pillars that represent Satan) preparing for the next day of Hajj. Arafah is a plain about 20 km Southeast of Makkah:

11 MERITS OF YAWM ARAFAH

1. Fasting on the Day of Arafah;
The Prophet peace be upon him said: "Fasting on the Day of Arafah absolves the sins for two years: the previous year and the coming year." [Sahīh al-Bukhārī]

2. Many are Freed from Hellfire;
The Prophet peace be upon him said: “There is no day on which Allah frees more people from Hellfire than the day of Arafah. He comes close and expresses His pride to the angels saying, 'What do these people want?” [Sahīh Muslim]

3. On this day our Religion was completed;
A Jewish man said to Umar: “O Amīr al-Muminīn (O leader of the Believers) There is a verse in the Qur'ān, which if it was revealed upon us (the Jews), we would have taken that day as an Eid (a day of celebration). Sayyiduna Umar asked: ‘Which verse?’ He said: “This day I have perfected your religion for you, completed my favour upon you, and have chosen for you Islam as your religion.” [al-Mā'idah] Sayyiduna Umar said: ‘We know on which day and in which place was this verse revealed upon the Messenger. It was when he was standing in Arafah on a Friday.’ [Sahīh al-Bukhārī]

4. Allah takes an Oath by this day;
It is the witnessed day (Mashūd) on which Allah took an Oath in the Qur'ān. "By the witnessing day (Friday) and by the witnessed day (Day of Arafah)." [al-Burūj]

5. The Best of Days;
The Prophet peace be upon him said: "The most superior of days is the Day of Arafah." [Sahīh Ibn Hibbān]

6. Immense Reward;
Anas bin Mālik said that people would say: "The day of Arafah is 10,000 times more superior (than a normal day)." Atā said: "The person who fasts on the day of Arafah shall receive the reward of fasting for 2000 days." [Latā'if al-Ma'ārif]

7. Satan is Humiliated;
The Prophet peace be upon him said: "Satan is never seen smaller, more defeated, more humiliated and more angry than on the day of Arafah.The only reason for this is because he sees the descent of mercy, and Allah's forgiveness of major sins." [Al-Muwatta]

"When Satan learnt that Allah forgave my Ummah and accepted my supplication, he began pouring soil on his head, and calling out for destruction. I laughed at the terror of his wicked creation." [Musnad Ahmad]

8. Forgiveness;
The Prophet peace be upon him said:
"The day of Arafah: the one who restrains his ears, eyes and tongue on this day is forgiven." [Musnad Ahmad]

The Day of Arafah is one of the most blessed days in Islam, offering a unique opportunity for reflection, worship, and seeking forgiveness. Fasting on this sacred day carries immense reward, as the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said that it expiates the sins of the previous and coming year. May Allah accept our fasting, prayers, and sincere supplications on this blessed day.

2nd of May marks the 17th death anniversary of
Mujāhid e Millat Maulana Abdul Sattār Khan Niyāzi رحمه اللّه تعالى He was a man of Allah, who dedicated all his life to serve Islam. He preached and practiced compassion towards others. He lived a very simple and humble but a dignified life.

All his life, he only cared to please Allah Almighty and His Beloved ﷺ
He played a vital role in declaring those people Kaafir, who do not believe in the finality of the prophethood of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). He defended the honour and Khatam Nubuwwat of Rasool-ullah ﷺ,

He was a courageous religious leader who would not hesitate to speak the truth in front of the politicians, regardless of their posts, and despite the fact that he was arrested and even sentenced many a time.

We are sharing a few pictures of Mawlana Niazi Alehirahmah along with chairman of Suffah Foundation Shaykh Umar Hayat Qadri

REMEMBERING: Sayyiduna Ali ibn Abi Talib - Radhi Allahu ‘anhu – Allāh be pleased with him.

He is the leader of the believers, the master of the warriors, the carrier of the flag, the conqueror of Khaybar, the Lion of Allāh, Haider e Karaar, the door to the City of Knowledge, the Imam of the east and the west, the signpost of faith, the husband of al-Batul, and the beloved of the Rasūl ﷺ.

He is a part of Ahl e Bait and part of the Khulafaa e Raashidoon. It was the Kaba where his wiladaat (birth) took place, and shahadaat (martyrdom) in the Masjid. His virtues are as numerous as the stars of the heavens. Some of Sayyiduna Ali’s (radi Allahu anhu) Dua and sayings:

“Learning is the glory of mankind. The wise are beacons on the road to the truth. Man is worth his knowledge, nothing more. The fool will be his inveterate foe. Knowledge is man’s hope of life immortal. Man may die but wisdom will live forever”.

“Whosoever rises daily with the hereafter in mind will be wealthy even without riches, at peace even without family, and strong even without a tribe’s backing”.

“How strange and foolish is man. He loses his health in gaining wealth. Then, to regain his health he wastes his wealth. He ruins his present while worrying about his future, but weeps in the future by recalling his past. He lives as though death shall never come to him, but dies in a way as if he were never born”.

The 17th of Ramadan marks the passing away of Umm ul-Mumineen (Mother of the Believers) *SAYYIDAH A'ISHA SIDDĪQAH* radiya Allāhu Anhā Janāzah Prayer lead by Sayyidunā Abū Hurairah in the year 58AH.

A'ishah said: "The beloved Prophet peace be upon him said to me that she had been shown to him in a dream for three nights, Jibrīl had brought her picture wrapped in silk and said to the Prophet peace be upon him, "This is your wife." He unfolded the garment and saw her face and said, "If it is from Allah, then it will be so." [Al-Bukhari]

"When Khadīja left this world, the Messenger of Allah peace and blessings be upon him and his family grieved a great deal and Allah sent Jibrīl and he brought him A'isha, and said, "Messenger of Allah, this one will remove some of your grief. In this woman you will find a successor to Khadījah. The Messenger of Allah used to frequent the house of Abū Bakr and say, "Umm Rumān treat A'isha well." [Tabaqāt Ibn Sa'd]

Jibrīl said, "This is your wife in this world and the next." [Al-Tirmidhi]

A'isha narrated: "That she lived with the Prophet of Allah for nine years." [Al-Tabari]

"May Allah have mercy on Abū Bakr he married his daughter (A'ishah) to me." [Al-Tirmidhi]

"The excellence of A’ishah over all women is like the excellence of al-Thareed (pieces of bread in vegetable or meat broth, this dish was the best of dishes) over all other foods." [Al-Tirmidhi]

"A'ishah, this is Jibrīl who is sending you Salām." [Al-Bukhari]

"O Messenger of Allah, Which of the people is most beloved to you?" He said, "A’ishah." I said, "And from the men?” He said, "Her father." [Al-Tirmidhi]

"Do not hurt me regarding A'ishah, as the Divine Inspirations do not come to me on any of the beds except that of A'ishah." [Ahmad]

"I have not seen anyone more eloquent than A’isha." [Al-Tirmidhi]

"A'ishah possessed knowledge of two thirds of Islam, no one has narrated more hadith than her except Abū Hurairah." [Fada'il]

"The Companions would call A’ishah the beloved of the Messenger of Allah." [Ibn Asākir]

"Never did any hadeeth become difficult for us except that we asked A’isha, we found she had knowledge regarding it." [Al-Tirmidhi]

"A'isha knew the science of division of the shares of Inheritance, he (Masrūq) said, "By Allah! I have seen senior Companions ask her questions of Inheritance". [Al-Sunan al-Dārimī]

"When the Messenger of Allah was very ill, in his illnesses during which he was taken, he asked, "Where will I be tomorrow?" They answered, "with so-and-so." He said, "Where will I be after tomorrow?" They answered "with so-and-so." His wives recognised that he wanted A'isha and they said we have given our days to our sister A'ishah." [Ibn Asākir]

A'isha would say: "One of the blessings Allah gave me was that the Messenger of Allah left this world in my room and on my day and between my chest and collarbone and that Allah mixed his saliva with my saliva at his departure by using a Miswāq that I had chewed for him." [Ibn Asākir]

"I was preferred over the wives of the Messenger by ten things, he never married any other virgin but me. He did not marry a woman both of whose parents were Muhājirūn except me. Allah revealed my innocence from the heavens. Jibrīl brought my picture from heaven to the Messenger and said: "Marry her. She is your wife." I used to do ghusl from the same vessel the Prophet used, and he did not do that with any of his other wives. The revelation used to descend on him while I was with him, and it did not descend on him while he was with any other wife but me. Allah took his spirit while he was between my chest and collarbone, and he left this world on the night in which he used to come to me and the Messenger was buried in my room." [Tabaqāt Ibn S'ad]

A'isha said: "Whenever I entered the house in which the Prophet and my father Abū Bakr are buried, I used to take off my sheet (from head) thinking that it’s only my father and husband (whom I am visiting), however By Allah! When Umar was buried with them, I never went inside without being fully covered, this is because of being shy of Umar." [Ahmad]

SAYYIDAH KHADĪJAH AL-KUBRĀ RADHI ALLAHU ANHA
May Allah be pleased with her

10th Ramadan marks the passing of Umm al-Mu’minīn Khayr al-Nisā Sayyidah Khadījah bint Khuwaylid the first and most beloved wife of the Messenger of Allah peace and a blessings be upon him and his family.

She is known as the Mother of the believers, and was the first person to accept Islam, the first to spend for Islam, the first to be given glad tidings of jannah, the first to pray with the Messenger. Sayyidah Khadījah was a very successful merchant. She was known by the names Amīrat al-Quraysh: Princess of Quraysh, al-Tāhira: The pure one and Khadījah al-Kubra: Khadījah the great. She fed and clothed the poor, assisted her relatives financially and provided marriage portions for the poor.

Sayyidah Khadījah was said to have neither believed in or worshipped idols. She was married twice before and she bore the Messenger of Allah ‎ﷺ six children, 4 daughters and two sons.

The Archangel Jibra'il peace be upon him once came to Allah's most beloved Messenger ‎ﷺ and said, "O Messenger of Allah, Khadījah is coming to you with a vessel of seasoned food or drink. When she comes to you, offer her greetings from her Lord, the Exalted and Glorious, and on my behalf and give her glad tidings of a palace of jewels in Paradise wherein there is no noise and no toil". (Sahih Muslim)

The Prophet ‎ﷺ also said once, The best of the women of Paradise are Khadījah bint Khuwaylid, Fātimah bint Muhammad, Maryam bint Imrān, and Aasiyah bint Muzahim (the wife of the Pharaoh). (Musnad Ahmad)

"She believed in me when no one else did. She embraced Islam when people doubted me. And she helped and comforted me when there was none else to lend me a helping hand. She shared her wealth with me when people deprived me and Allah granted me children through her." (Musnad Ahmad)

"The best of women in her era is Khadījah bint Khuwaylid." (Jami al-Tirmidhi)

Whenever The Prophet ‎ﷺ would slaughter a sheep, he used to say, "Send some of it to the friends of Sayyidah Khadījah. The Love of Sayyidah Khadījah was Bestowed to me!" (Sahih Muslim)

Once the Prophet ‎ﷺ fed Sayyidah Khadījah a grape from heaven. (al-Tabari)

The Prophet ‎ﷺ never married other women in the lifetime of Sayyidah Khadījah, until she passed away.” (Sahih Muslim)

REMEMBERING - Imam e Azam Abu Hanifa ‎رضي الله عنهم

The Prophet ‎ﷺ was once sitting with the Companions and he put his blessed arm around Sayyiduna Salman al-Farsi, the Persian Companion. The Prophet ‎ﷺ said, “Even if faith was left amongst the stars, one of this man’s descendants would grab it” (Sahih Muslim,2546). Here, the Prophet ‎ﷺ is informing of a great reviver of Islam, to come from Persia. Many interpret this Hadith to refer to Imam Abu Hanifa.

Sayyiduna Numan bin Thabit, better known as Al-Imam al-Azam (the greatest Imam) or by his kunyah Abu Hanifa, is first of the four Mujtahid imams and it is a testament to the strength and comprehensiveness of his madhab that the Hanafi school has the most adherents. He pioneered intellectual activity in Islamic lands and lead the development of a uniform code for both Aqidah/Creed and Fiqh/Jurisprudence.

His crown text in the subject of Aqidah was al-Fiqh al-Akbar and his teachings stimulated the development of the Māturīdiyyah school, a champion of orthodoxy and it also influenced Imam Tahawi (RH) who composed the famous Aqidah Tahawiyyah, an encompassing summation of the Aqidah of Ahlus Sunnah wal Jama’ah.

Sayyiduna Alī al-Hujwīrī / Dātā Ganj Bakhsh, relates: ‘I fell asleep at the tomb of Sayyiduna Bilal رضى الله عنه and I dreamed that I was in Mecca, and that the Beloved Prophet ﷺ came in to the Sacred Mosque, tenderly clasping an old man to his bosom in the same fashion as people carry children; and that I ran to the Prophet ‎ﷺ and kissed his foot, and stood marvelling who the old man might be; the Prophet ‎ﷺ was miraculously aware of my secret thought and said to me *This is your Imam and the Imam of your countrymen* meaning Abu Hanifa. In consequence of this dream I have great hopes for myself and also for the people of my country’.
