*Pak–China Friendship Celebration at UCAD–IUB*
The University College of Art and Design organized a vibrant Art Exhibition to celebrate the strong and enduring friendship between the two neighboring countries, Pakistan and China. The event was arranged under the direction and patronage of Engr. Prof. Dr. Muhammad Kamran, Worthy Vice Chancellor of The Islamia University of Bahawalpur.
Dr. Farhana Altaf Qureshi, Principal of UCAD, briefed students and faculty members on the significance of Pak–China relations, cultural exchange programs, and the importance of CPEC in strengthening bilateral cooperation. To commemorate 75 years of successful diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China, students were assigned creative projects focusing on postal stamp and coin designs. Through paintings, posters, and various artworks, students beautifully expressed their admiration and affection for the Chinese people and culture.
The celebration attracted art enthusiasts and visitors from different departments of the university and the city. Distinguished guests included Prof. Rubina Bhatti, Prof. Abid Shahzad, Prof Muhammad Shazad, Mr.
Naseer Ahmad Nasir, Dr. Shazia Noureen Khan, members of Pakistan Entrepreneur Empowerment Forum,

Mr Noor malik Ms madeha and team,
Sajid malik consultancy services, representatives from Akhuwat Foundation, along with several other dignitaries from the IUB. Students from different semesters actively participated in various creative activities. First-semester students arranged a live face-painting session, while second-semester students decorated the amphitheater with red and green flags representing the unity and friendship of Pakistan and China. Students from the third, fourth, and fifth semesters participated in poster-making, drawing, and painting activities. On 21 May 2026, the national anthems of Pakistan and China were played to honor the spirit of peace, unity, and diplomatic harmony between the two nations. Sixth-semester students presented friendship bands to the guests and performed Pak–China musical presentations that added enthusiasm and cultural warmth to the celebration.
All faculty members encouraged students to participate wholeheartedly and showcase their creative talents in celebrating Pak–China friendship. The event concluded on a memorable note as Chief Guest Engr. Prof. Dr. Muhammad Kamran appreciated the efforts of UCAD. Prof. Dr. Amir Sohail also praised the dedication and creativity of the students and faculty members in making the celebration colorful, meaningful, and successful.

*Floral Arrangement Exhibition – Colors of Peace: Pakistan Peace Maker*
In continuation of the celebrations of 100 Years of Academic Excellence of The Islamia University of Bahawalpur, Dr. Farhana Altaf Qureshi organized the 7th Floral Arrangement Workshop and Exhibition at University College of Art and Design under the title “Pakistan – Peace Maker.”
The exhibition highlighted Pakistan’s role as a global peace maker through mesmerizing floral arrangements created with flowers, leaves, roots, stems, seeds, branches, brushes, and frouts. The workshop commenced during the third week of April 2026 for the students of UCAD, where participants showed remarkable enthusiasm and dedication throughout the activities.
The workshop aimed to teach students the aesthetics of balance and harmony through natural materials. Students explored the textures and forms of flowers, leaves and creatively transformed them into unique pieces of art.
Dr. Farhana Altaf Qureshi, as the lead instructor of the workshop, encouraged students to experiment with fresh and dried botanical materials in order to create captivating floral compositions. The students worked continuously for two weeks to complete their projects, which were finally displayed in the exhibition at the conclusion of the workshop.
The inaugural ceremony of Pakistan Peace Maker through Floral Arrangement was held on May 7, 2026. The exhibition was inaugurated by Chief Guest Dr. Amir Sohail along with Guest of Honor Mrs. Fozia Ayub Qureshi, renowned politician (PMLN), member of CPLC DPO Office Bahawalpur, and former MPA of Bahawalpur City.
Faculty members from UCAD, as well as other departments of the Faculty of Arts and Languages, visited the exhibition and appreciated the creative floral arrangements prepared by the UCAD students.
The respected jury members included Dr. Maleeha and Mrs. Najia Sarwar, who evaluated the floral projects with keen interest and appreciation.
The appreciation certificate distribution ceremony was held at the conclusion of the event under the chief guestship of Dr. Amir Sohail. The distinguished guests included Dr. Muhammad Shahzad as Guest of Honor, Dr. Muhammad Tariq Hamid Rahmani as Special Guest, along with Dr. Shafaq Manzoor, Ms Bakhtawer, and Ms Shazia Naureen.
All the distinguished guests highly appreciated the efforts of Dr. Farhana Altaf Qureshi and the faculty of University College of Art and Design for organizing the floral exhibition under the inspiring theme “Pakistan: The Peace Maker.”
