ایک بار قائد اعظم محمد علی جناح سکول و کالج کے طلبا سے خطاب کر رہے تھے

کہ ایک ہندو لڑکے نے کهڑے ہو کر آپ سے کہا کہ آپ ہندوستان کا بٹوارہ کر کے ہمیں کیوں تقسیم کرنا چاہتے ہیں , آپ میں اور ہم میں کیا فرق ہے۔۔۔؟
آپ کچھ دیر تو خاموش رہے , تو سٹوڈنٹس نے آپ پر جملے کسنے شروع کر دئیے , کچھ نے کہا کہ آپ کے پاس اس کا جواب نہیں , اور پهر ہر طرف سے ہندو لڑکوں کی ہوٹنگ اور قہقہوں کی آوازیں سنائی دے رہیں تھیں۔
قائد اعظم نے ایک پانی کا گلاس منگوایا , آپ نے تهوڑا سا پانی پیا پهر اسکو میز پر رکھ دیا , آپ نے ایک ہندو لڑکے کو بلایا اور اسے باقی بچا ہوا پانی پینے کو کہا , تو ہندو لڑکے نے وہ پانی پینے سے انکار کر دیا۔
پهر آپ نے ایک مسلمان لڑکے کو بلایا , آپ نے وہی بچا ہوا پانی اس مسلم لڑکے کو دیا , تو وہ فوراً قائد اعظم کا جوٹها پانی پی گیا۔
آپ پهر سب طلباء سے مخاطب ہوئے اور فرمایا , یہ فرق ہے آپ میں اور ہم میں .
ہر طرف سناٹا چھا گیا . کیونکہ سب کے سامنے فرق واضح ہو چکا تها۔
محمد علی جناح نے کبهی کسی کو بُرا بھلا نہیں کہا . آپ اپنی بات اس قدر ٹهوس دلائل سے پیش کرتے تهے کہ بڑے بڑے منہ میں انگلیاں دبا لیتے اور آپ کے سامنے لاجواب ہو جاتے۔
قائد اعظم سے لوگوں کی محبت کا یہ عالم تھا کہ اگر کوئی آپ سے ہاتھ ملا لیتا تو وہ خوشی سے پھولا نہ سماتا , اور سارا دن لوگوں کو بتاتا پهرتا کہ آج میں نے قائد اعظم سے ہاتھ ملایا ہے۔
