Systems, Man and Cybernetics (https://www.ieeesmc.org/) is an international society. We have its Student Branch Chapter (IEEE Systems, Man, and Cybernetics Society SB Chapter). We are looking for six volunteers to be appointed as members of the executive committee of the SBC.

Term: One Year (Extendable)
Expectations: Planning, Management and Ex*****on of Technical Events, Online Reporting of Events and Meetings, Applying for Financial Grants and Awards, Effective Communication on Emails, 1500 PKR in terms of annual membership fee.

Time Table Fall 2025 - BSc Computer Systems Engineering

Classes of 3rd, 5th and 7th semester will commence on Monday, 22 Sep 2025. While the 1st semester from 1st of October.

We are delighted to announce that Dr. Qaiser Ijaz, Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Systems Engineering, has been elected as the Chair of the Awards and Recognition Committee in the IEEE Lahore Section Executive Committee for a two-year term (2025-2026).

A Competitive Election:
Dr. Ijaz secured 60.20% of the votes in a four-candidate race, a testament to his 15+ years of dedicated service and contributions to IEEE across Punjab.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Overseeing awards and recognition programs for 21 student branches (universities) and subsections.
2. Collaborating with the newly elected Lahore Section Chair, Dr. Yasir Saleem (UET Lahore).
3. Representing the IEEE Lahore Section—Pakistan’s oldest and most prestigious IEEE section—at the global level, particularly in the Asia-Pacific (Region 10).

This achievement highlights Dr. Ijaz’s leadership, expertise, and commitment to advancing engineering excellence. Join us in congratulating him and wishing him success in this prestigious role!

We proudly share the news that the Pakistan Engineering Council has granted accreditation to our signature undergraduate program, BSc Computer Systems Engineering, for three more years—covering the intake batches of 2020, 2021, and 2022.

The PEC team, led by Convenor Engr. Prof. Dr. Abdul Sattar Shakir (PTUT Lahore) and Program Evaluators: Engr. Prof. Dr. Nasru Minallah (UET Peshawar) and Engr. Prof. Dr. Haroon Yousaf (UET Taxila), visited the department on May 24–25, 2024. The team evaluated the faculty, students, alumni, and the processes in place to ensure the delivery of quality Outcome-Based Education (OBE).

Under the leadership of Chairperson Engr. Dr. Nadia Rasheed (Associate Professor), the faculty members of the department demonstrated promising and sustainable growth in running a globally recognized engineering program.
