✨ Makharij-ul-Huroof — Ash-Shafatain (الشفتان) ✨
The Two Lips

Today we learn the articulation point of ف، ب، م، و. These letters are pronounced with the help of the two lips, but each has a different method of articulation.

🔹 ف — فاء: The inner part of the lower lip touches the edges of the upper front teeth.
🔹 ب — باء: Both lips come together.
🔹 م — ميم: Both lips come together, with Ghunnah from the nasal passage.
🔹 و — واو: The lips are rounded and come close together without completely closing.

📌 Important: Madd Wāw (وْ preceded by ḍammah) belongs to Al-Jawf, while non-Madd Wāw is from Ash-Shafatain.

صحیح مخرج سے حروف کی ادائیگی تجوید کی بنیاد ہے۔ ہر حرف کو اس کے درست مخرج اور صفت کے ساتھ ادا کرنے کی کوشش کریں تاکہ ہماری تلاوت واضح، خوبصورت اور درست ہو۔

Every letter of the Holy Qur'an has a unique point of articulation that must be observed for correct recitation. In today's lesson, we complete the Taraf Al-Lisaan (Tip of the Tongue) series by learning the letters ظ، ذ، ث. These letters are pronounced when the tip of the tongue lightly touches or slightly comes between the upper and lower front teeth. Learning their correct articulation helps preserve the beauty, accuracy, and meaning of the Qur'an.

آج کے سبق میں ہم طرف اللسان کے آخری حصے کا مطالعہ کر رہے ہیں، جہاں سے حروفِ ظ، ذ، اور ث ادا کیے جاتے ہیں۔ ان حروف کی ادائیگی کے وقت زبان کی نوک اوپر اور نیچے کے سامنے والے دانتوں کے قریب یا ہلکے سے ان کے درمیان آتی ہے۔ حرفِ ظ مفخم (Heavy) ہے، جبکہ ذ اور ث مرقق (Light) حروف ہیں۔ ان کے صحیح مخرج اور صفات کی مشق کرنا درست تجوید، واضح تلفظ اور خوبصورت تلاوت کے لیے نہایت ضروری ہے۔

In today's lesson, we continue our Makharij-ul-Huroof series by learning the letters ص، س، ز, which are pronounced from Taraf Al-Lisaan (the tip of the tongue). These letters share a common articulation area and are distinguished by the characteristic quality of Safīr (whistling sound). Learning this subtle difference helps make our recitation more accurate and beautiful.

آج کے سبق میں ہم طرف اللسان کے اس حصے کا مطالعہ کر رہے ہیں جہاں سے حروفِ ص، س، اور ز ادا کیے جاتے ہیں۔ ان حروف کی ادائیگی میں زبان کی نوک نچلے سامنے والے دانتوں کے قریب ہوتی ہے اور ہوا زبان اور دانتوں کے درمیان سے گزرتی ہے۔ ان تینوں حروف میں صفتِ صفیر (سیٹی جیسی آواز) پائی جاتی ہے، لیکن صرف حرفِ ص مفخم (Heavy) ہے، جبکہ س اور ز مرقق (Light) حروف ہیں۔ ان کی درست ادائیگی تلاوتِ قرآن کی خوبصورتی، روانی اور صحت کو برقرار رکھتی ہے۔

آج کے سبق میں ہم طرف اللسان کے دوسرے حصے کا مطالعہ کر رہے ہیں، جہاں سے حروفِ ط، د، ت ادا کیے جاتے ہیں۔ یہ تینوں حروف زبان کی نوک کو اوپر کے سامنے والے دانتوں کی جڑ (مسوڑھے کے ابتدائی حصے) سے ملا کر ادا کیے جاتے ہیں۔ حرفِ ط مفخم (Heavy) ہے، جبکہ د اور ت مرقق (Light) حروف ہیں۔ ان کے صحیح مخرج اور صفات کو سمجھنا تلاوتِ قرآن کو درست، واضح اور خوبصورت بناتا ہے۔

In today's lesson, we explore Hāfat Al-Lisaan (حافة اللسان)—the side of the tongue, from where the unique Arabic letter Ḍād (ض) is pronounced. This remarkable letter is one of the distinguishing features of the Arabic language, which is why Arabic is often referred to as "Lughat ad-Dād" (لغة الضاد).

وسط اللسان سے مراد زبان کا درمیانی حصہ ہے، جو اوپر کے سخت تالو (Hard Palate) کے درمیانی حصے سے مل کر ج، ش، اور ی (غیر مدّی ی) ادا کرتا ہے۔ یاد رکھیں کہ یہاں مراد غیر مدّی ی (يْ) ہے، نہ کہ حرفِ مد (ي) جس کا مخرج الجوف ہے۔ جب ہم ان حروف کو ان کے صحیح مخرج سے ادا کرتے ہیں تو ہماری تلاوت زیادہ واضح، خوبصورت اور سنتِ نبوی ﷺ کے مطابق ہوتی ہے۔

Beautiful Qur'an recitation begins with knowing the correct articulation point (Makhraj) of every letter. In today's lesson, we learn Aqsa Al-Lisaan (أقصى اللسان)—the backmost part of the tongue, where the letters ق and ك are pronounced. Although these two letters are similar in appearance, each has its own precise point of articulation, and mastering this difference is essential for accurate Tajweed.

أقصى اللسان سے مراد زبان کا سب سے پچھلا حصہ ہے جو حلق کے قریب ہوتا ہے۔ اسی مقام سے ق اور ك ادا کیے جاتے ہیں۔ حرف ق زبان کے سب سے پچھلے حصے سے نرم تالو (Soft Palate) کے ساتھ ادا ہوتا ہے، جبکہ ك کا مخرج ق سے تھوڑا آگے ہوتا ہے۔ ان دونوں حروف کی صحیح ادائیگی سیکھنا تجوید کی بنیاد ہے اور اس سے تلاوتِ قرآن مزید واضح، خوبصورت اور درست ہو جاتی ہے۔
